What's the cheapest (AND EASIEST) substrate to use without having to shred or prepare much?

For my next round of bottles, I'll be using MudaFaka's Bottle Tek and I want to use cheap products.
The straw looks like it's kind of a bitch because it needs to be broken down into smaller pieces.
The list of things mudafaka says can be used (but not limited to) are:
Dogfood wheat bran RGS WBS oats wheat popcorn hemp seed coir vermiculite shredded straw coffee whole wheat flour BRF dextrose LME manure worm castings gypsum
Which of these things are the cheapest and easiest to use? I have some rye berries and rye grass seed (RGS) left over that I could use and I like them cause they only require boiling. (I also have verm and coir.)
But from that list (or any other items not in that list)... what else can I buy that's equally easy to prepare and doesn't require shredding like straw or pulverizing like dog food but is hella cheap?
For the record, I've never been into a feed store and don't even know what I'd find in there, but any guidance would be good. I don't know even know what wheat bran is (what, like the cereal?)

I've never bought hpoo (horse poop? manure) before... Is that the cheapest thing that requires minimal prep? (What do people normally use it for anyway? Fertilizer?)

Are you talking about spawn, or bulk or.... Both?

Good question. In Mudafuka's bottle tek, it's more of a bulk preparation that he prepares all together. I already have the verm and coir to mix with it.. I just need guidance on the "more nutritious" stuff like grain or poop or flour or what have you.

Well, if you are doing any tek, you are going to need some form of nutritious material, most often grain of some type. I like oats. Rye works well too, lots of different grain works. Basically anything that is available to you in regard to grain you can most often use, so get what you can and use it. I suggest going to a feed store and trying out whole oats. The prep is really easy honestly, just follow a tek to the T.
For bulk, CVG all the way. Coir, verm and gypsum. It's the easiest thing to prep and it's a lot more contaminant resistant than a lot of other bulk subs if pasteurized properly. It can even be cooked or sterilized. Coir is very flexible.

I agree with the whole oats. Less than $15 for a 50lb bag. Hpoo can be as cheap as free if you know someone with horses, just tell them its for your flowers or garden.

In mudda's tek several nutritious things grains, dog food, ect. are mixed with bulk material and sterilized, inoculated with LI or LC in a SAB. If you don't want to use straw go with the coir based recipe. LI would be the better/faster choice inoculant IMO unless you are inoculating dozens of bottles. If you use LC don't start it with spores, start on agar, use the agar to inoculate the LC, then test the LC on agar. LI you can just do blenderless LI, blended agar or corn meal mush plates.

So, CVG (Coir, verm and gypsum) and whole oats or hpoo seem like a winner.
Where to buy whole oats for cheap? And what is it typically for? cooking?

This. NOT TSC brands, or producers pride. Go to an actual feed store or grainery and ask for racehorse oats. They should have them, I got 50#s of the shit for 9 bucks.

I can't find race oats, it would be nice. Until then I'll keep using my dusty old producers pride, I don't even rince them.
