Drill slowly and don't use hulk pressure, let the weight of the drill and the sharpness of the bit do the work.....use a torch to heat the drill bit (try not to breath too much melting plastic fumes)

Good information from PortabellaFella. Just here to add this little bit of advice. You can heat your clear tub with a hairdryer where you intend to drill. This'll take the brittle-ness of the plastic away.
Still- "don't use hulk pressure" is some of the best, and most amusing advice I've seen. Hat tip to you sir.

Why even worry about cracking? If it's super bad just tape or glue or whatever. I got a half dozen cracked tubs, grown out pounds from em. Never thought of smashing them cause of a crack and I'm bipolar.

Oh you can also melt the holes. If you have a blow torch and a few 1" or so sockets

Nobody said holes have to be pretty. They are just holes after all. Air is innocuous and all like... Doesn't care if your hole is round. Sometimes I just get a very sharp razor knife and score holes first, then just cut along the score marks at a 45 degree blade angle. It isn't pretty but not horrible either, but it's fast, and I like fast.

I don't understand how people keep cracking their tubs....but I use a drill every day so maybe that's why. Drill slowly and lightly. Try to find a dull bit too, if you can. I think even the weight of most drills would be a little too much. Most importantly, hold the drill straight. Can't stress that point enough

Half of my mini monos are slightly cracked because I used a paddle bit instead of a hole saw lol.
It doesn't matter as long as the tote in question still has it's structural integrity.
My SAB looks nice though, only because I melted the holes...

I stab a Coke bottle cap with a screwdriver then blast it with a torch.

It's upside down. Use the table as the floor. And the bottom of the tote is the roof. Way more stable your jars won't bounce on the plastic

I use a PlayStation 3 as a weight to hold my SAB down so it doesn't accidentally wiggle around on the table

And when the floor is heaving up and down its like a bellow disturbing the still air.

I clamp a piece of wood to my tub and drill through the plastic into that. No cracks yet.

Only works if you use an arbor with the two prongs on it.

There are drill bits that cut to the side, or just melt it with a tin can. Don't poke the bit to hard though.
