I did not know that the growth shown seemed fast, almost all of the jars look similar with growth in the areas where i injected the needles.

These are less than 14 days old at the time of the OP. Ive seen many users get fully colonized jars in less than 2 weeks
But with shit going that fast, I always recommend adding a week on the consolidation period. If it colonizes before 2 weeks, do a 2 week consolidation.

Yes he's using pints. Still, although it is uncommon for it to be that big in 9 days, it isn't unheard of at all. Also he's using some fucked up mixture of things for his substrate. Maybe it has less nutrients, and thus the myc spreads more looking for food. He is using 75% verm, which is already less nutrients than the classic 66.7% of verm used in the regular pf tek. who really knows. It still looks like cubensis mycelium to me, but I could be wrong. I have been before

I find it ironic that he's from one of the places that eats the most rice but isn't using it, one of the main ingredients for cakes (brf) that must be in abundance there

I am in college, year abroad (in Texas, yeehaw), haha I guess I should of used rice
They are 8oz or half pint, and the picture I showed has to be the jar with the most growth. It was 30ml of liquid spores for 6 jars.
The mixture was 3 parts verm, to 1 part rye seed, 1 part poppy seed. So not 75%.

The ratio for Pf tek is 2 verm 1 brown rice flour 1 water for future reference And that's a lot of spores 1/4cc per jar, I've always done 1cc per jar but nevermind

ah yea sorry that reminds me. 1 Part water was also added. It was a wet mixture. and attempted 15ml of spores per 8oz jar. Spores seem very cheap, so I was pretty liberal with using them.

Ideally you use only a drop or two of spores. Less is more with spores. Using too much can slow growth and greatly encourages contamination

This is bad. The mushrooms spores are collected from are grown in open air. Open air has all sorts of nasties (mold, bacteria, yeast, etc.) The more spores you use, the higher likelihood you've just introduced contaminants.
You can literally use less than a drop: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Number=23645997
Not to mention that's quite a bit of liquid you're adding to the media.

thanks for that info, I obviously thought the opposite, I guess that means I can stretch out my other 3 syringes to go further next time. Im glad this is just a learning experience. If I actually get something usable from this attempt I will be happy Is it ok to mention where I purchased the spores? does that often make a difference? Im sure different vendors have different reputations.

Did he say 15ml? I had to do a double take. That's like, way WAY too much.

It's a bad idea because it provides circumstantial evidence against the vendor in question. It's also disallowed by the rules.

Ok I got it in the future I will us a lot less. Not like I would complain about that, that just makes this experiment even cheaper.
