Mdwtpmd said: Well I bought one. Ended up having to pay 75 because it was powered but still a steal. M thinking I'll need a new filter but even if it's 200 bucks I'm way ahead of the game. I just put two pcd jars and two jars I just knocked up in front of it for about 2-3 minutes so we'll see what happens. Seriously if anyone wants one he had at least 100 of them I'd be glad to buy them and ship them out.
I also bought 4 of these powerd units , he was driving up north anyways and actually deliverd them to me
Exact same thing is this for 75 bucks killer deal http://www.fungi.com/product-detail/product/self-contained-air-filtration-unit.html
I live in the seattle area if anyone wants to buy one of the other 3 i have pm me
What's the depth of that thing? That looks like a great unit. I do notice it says it filters down to 0.3 microns though, don't you need a 0.2 or smaller filter to capture all contaminants?

These definitely produce laminar flow, I got a used one from a tissue culture lab, they were using these as flow hoods.
The filter in mine is old and needs replacing but is rated to filter 99.99%@0.3µm.
The dimensions of mine are 1200x600 so it is a really nice size. These use an inline type blower and have a really good baffle inside the plenum, its curved and has lots of holes which disperse the airflow very evenly over the back of the filter preventing any variation in flow from the face of the filter, laminar flow is really good over the entire face of the filter:)

I don't think they're all sold. I'd get in touch with him and ship them if anyone wanted. Mine works great. No contams in over a month and I've done probably 100 g2g in front of it. Got quoted a price of like 300 for a new filter from Flanders but the one that's in it seems to be fine still. Pm me if interested.

Still have one you'd be willing to part with? My neighbors might kill me if I build one in my apartment!
-------------------- There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to everything. ~Yamamoto Tsunetomo
