Hold your horses buddy. You only posted 45 minutes ago. People have lives to live and aren't scouring forums all day. I have never hunted gyms so I can't add any input into your ID

A little rash don't you think? I know you might of had a pretty good idea of what they were but is a trip really worth eating an unknown mushroom?

Probably Gymnopilus luteus, that specimen is a bit deformed though, and is to small to be Gymnopilus junonius.
I understand you're excited and all, but don't be so eager you make a mistake which might send you to the hospital.

My real questions is, how does something smell bitter? Gyms usually smell delicious, kind of like sweet anise, they often taste bitter though, with some species tasting more bitter than others.

It tasted as it smelt. Pupils are huge but its def not a full blown trip. Decent headspace with a positive vibe. In combination with kratom and lots of cannabis.

You ate them without an ID? As far as you knew that could have been some kind of mold. Just saying.....I never could understand why some people get impatient to trip. I plan mine out usually a couple weeks in advance. Not to mention you only had the one mushroom. Anyway.....it looks like Gymnopilus luteus.

Well i felt comfortable doing my own research. I got it identified on the shroomery page on fb. It was def a good choice as my night has been beautiful, and i didn't expect much which was perfect cause this shroom was as potent as it looked. R.O.A. was parachuting it and swallowing it whole after cutting it up still wet. I am well aware of the risks involved. I put faith in my knowledge and i am content. Good night shroomery, safe journies
