Found the fattest allenii I've ever seen in my life in the North Bay yesterday on my way to a NYE dinner:
Small Section of the patch:

Saucers:

The king cap:

Printing:

Prints:

Great way to end the year! Most of my spots this season have returned below-average yield, since the weather patterns have not been as steady rain/humidity as in years past. This spot was in a splendid micro-climate against the back of a building on a steep hill.
Side note: I've been enjoying this thread's recent return to normalcy, and especially great to see folks discussing spreading spawn & generally trying to cultivate as well as just hunt.
I successfully scaled up an allenii culture from agar this year, given to me by a generous member of this community, and already have several 5 gallon pots of chips on my patio that are rock solid with mycelium. Got a small harvest off it this season, but in the next few weeks I`m planning to 10x the spawn in burlap sacks, bunker-spawn style, and spend the summer knocking up every suitable landscape I bike past with healthy mats of magic mycelium. Love to see other folks out there planning to pay it forward as well!

Beautiful finds! And I agree, gKid, I'm very happy to see this thread back on track.
This was only my second year hunting, but none of the spots where I found actives last year have been successful for me this year. Most of those were small patches and several were literally only one mushroom each, but in comparison this year's new finds have all been nice little patches - we've gone back to one of them the past three weekends and it was still putting out on Saturday, although I didn't see pins this time. With the rain coming this week I wonder if maybe some of last year's spots will finally pop? I found my last cyans in late January last year...
I've got this year's stem butts going in a few different containers, some in chips, some in cardboard, some in a mix of both. I also kept mycelium from last year alive in planter pots outside, but it didn't fruit, although I suppose there's a small chance it still could. While we were hunting we replanted mycelium around the areas where we found it, but my goal is to plant more within SF this year - I want to pay it forward within walking distance, or muni ride + walking distance! And the idea of psilocybes growing randomly around the city just makes me really happy.

found these today in SF. There were about 25+ more around these guys, but most were pretty water logged.
I've been hunting for 2 weeks. Studying for 6 years. I have a total of 14oz cyans dried. I'm pretty stoked.

nice work considering how goddamn cold and dry everything is, even with the nominal amount of rain. we're probably at the 20 hours per patch time of the season. They're out there for the motivated.

I came in late in the season, but today was good.
I spent about an hour combing suspected sights, circling back to places where I had found them last week. The entire time I said to myself "god damnit, its cold. season is over".
I literally stepped into the largest cyan find I've found to date. The season is winding down, but still on.
I can't wait for next year. I am very grateful for what I have found this year

Wow afrogus the shrooms in the grass look great!
My friend and I sampled a gram each yesterday - he tried some allenii and I took cyans and we were both pretty much immobile and At some point I'll write up a trip report, we both tripped way harder than we thought we would. Last summer I ate 2 grams and it wasn't as intense as this 1g dose.

Yeah they're real strong. I too ate a gram recently- maybe a bit under a gram, and was floored. They can really grab ya by the boo-boo!

I've had 0.4 g of grass cyans about a month ago and got pretty melted for 4 hours; a few days ago I had 1 pin, less than 0.2 and again! this is the first year I eat cyans and I'm very impressed!

Dune grass cyans off the Oregon Coast blow wood chip city cyans out of the water.. fwiw.
I think it's because grass cyans are more established and used to growing off the same substrate for quite some time. They don't have to worry about surviving or not and just throw out big old potent bastards. They don't need to fruit 100 or 1000, they've got what they need and have plenty of time.

It was one of two bart stations I could've parked my car for the day, but I decided to drive a lil further to my second option , and ended up finding a random small Allenii patch in the nick of time because i'd imagine the rain would've smothered them. Keep in mind I don't park my car at the station , but rather random near-by parking lots.. Screw parking permits lol.
Haven't really been hunting since mid December, my last hunt was with Smilingpolitely which turned out awesome, haven't really been motivated, but depending on the city , patches are still thriving , I've gotta getnout a few more times. Just mDE some edibles so I think I'ma go hunting/see how looking around in the rain goes

I'm just gonna say it, I think that next week we will see the last big push of actives. Just when we thought the season was over the rain gods have blessed us.
