jayz called me yesterday to go hunt, i didn't really feel like going but i thought it would be nice to get out after being sick for a week. we left around 1pm and finished at 8pm.
i couldn't believe the amount of patches we were finding. i am convinced there are more fruits growing than anyone can pick. this was my best hunt ever. i also don't see how people aren't finding them, we would literally find another patch every few minutes of walking around.
i have some pics but i wasn't expecting the hunt to be this great so i only have some phone pics.

FWIW if anyone's looking for good, small, easy-to-carry scissors on the cheap - Daiso stores have these slim profile pocket scissors w/ a blade cover for $1.50. They work well.
PS: they also sell paper lunch bags cheap.

Can I bring a dried fruit or two so people can see them up close? Or is that a no-no

Wouldn't bother me, but technically against the rules of the SF psychedelic society and may be legally risky.

We went back to the same three spots where we made finds last Saturday and today brought home a bit more than half of that first haul. Sorry, no photos as we just wanted to get it done.
I left pins and smaller fruits behind last week, but clearly there were many more little babies that I never saw at all that grew up since then.
If anyone is wondering whether they should hunt, I'd say definitely give it a go. We were south of SF hitting parks, schools, office parks, etc.
And it's been much different (better) than last year when we kept finding solitary mushrooms - those provided a lot of motivation, but I'd rather have a lot of mushrooms!

I've grown for a few years but found myself in the North Bay earlier this year. I've been looking around for p. allenii and p. cyanescens, thought I found a patch last night.
To me, the cap looks about right, but some of these had reddish-orangish stems, and I'm not sure if it was just wishful thinking. Was hoping I could bring it to some experts. Some of these seem to have red stems, and some white. Any tips on identification, or if any of these are psilos, would be appreciated. Thank you!!

The lighting on that first picture makes it really hard to tell what they are.
The second photo could be a Panaeolus species.

Thanks for the quick reply. I agree the photos could be better. I'll try to get better quality ones next time. Going on another hunt this morning, perhaps i'll have better luck.

Found these while hunting. I still have yet to find my first real patch, so I feel like I'm seeing more what I want than actual allenii's or cyans. I didn't think these were psilo's based on the medium being a stump, but thought I would run them by you guys anyways.

nice pictures limothyteary! maybe a galarina sp., probably highly toxic. Definitely not a psilocybin containing mushroom. FYI- this is a thread for posting pictures and the discussion of confirmed active mushrooms. Make your own thread for an id request if you have something you're unsure of.
