color spectrum for the mushies is something i never have worried about, mine seems to do just fine with bright indirect light in a trasparant growing chamber

PF's experiments actually showed blacklights cause mutagenic deformations and most would turn albino and not reproduce. But I doubt a regular blacklight bulb would have a high enough spectrum probably just the blacklight flourescent type bulbs.

I've also heard that PF story about albinos and sporeless shrooms, but....

I say to you: Be bold! Be your own crusader and do it no matter what anyone says.

Then you can tell us what's up.  I, for one, would be interested in hearing your results.

I'd do it myself, but I don't have a black light and I ain't buyin' one anytime soon.

Good Luck

You should also consider putting up some psychedelic shroomy black light posters in your grow room to give the mushies something to strive for.

It wasn't a story, he wrote a paper on it and had it posted on his site when it was up. I'm sure it's still aroundhere somewhere but I don't know if I feel like looking for it yet.

Yeah, I read it. I was paraphrasing.

I got the impression that he wasn't 100% sure of the cause, and that it took a long time to mainifest.

So apparently the black light provided enough light for fruiting, at least for a time, until weirdness set in.

I really would like to try this some time just for shits and giggles.
Albinos would be kinda cool, dontcha think?
