Growing Leratiomyces ceres in the garden
    #23710026 - 10/05/16 01:35 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

NOTE: I was directed to this sub-forum as it is a non-active mushroom.

I am aware of their inactiveness but I brought some home and felt it would be nice to have some near under my magnolia bush which has some rotten wood pieces underneath (which are also damp). I hear they like wood and I found them in damp wood chips.
My mushrooms have a bit of root and white stuff on the attached wood chips, do I put them near other damp wood chips under the magnolia bush and just hope for the best for them to grow more mushrooms?
Will it work? And is there a way to ensure better success?

I don't see why I have to go through all the hassle of pressure cookers and agar dishes. How does nature achieve this with just wind and spores? :P. Would the white stuff at the base of the mushrooms I have, on the wood chips it is attached to, just spread to nearby damp woodchips and grow more mushrooms?

Thanks.
