Message you
You know you'd get tons of responses if you just asked the question. It's like you made a thread with the subject and title, "Hey can I ask you a question?" But I'm sure my response wasn't inevitable at all. You're a curious dude.

Okay good idea.
So basically I bought capsules that are labeled "Urban ice, Premium bali." 750mg per capsule
Guy at the store told me to take 3-4. 6 capsules total in packet
I haven't had anything for 2 months. I'm also on meds. Will I be okay?

Are you really sure you want to? I'm not as familiar with kratom and never tried it but I'm pretty sure it gives you a buzz/high. I remember you having substance abuse problems which is why I'm asking, two months is a lot of progress, is something you never tried really worth the risk of potentially setting yourself back and possibly going back down the wrong path? As I said I'm not familiar with it but if you're two months clean from everything then just keep going dude you're already doing really good, why risk it?

Kratom is like the softest drug in existence
For somebody to "go down the wrong path" from kratom use is honestly laughable.

Anyone who had issues with addiction and is for the most part only recently clean I'd still recommend doing nothing that can get you high regardless of how "soft" it may be

They should be avoiding caffeine, sugar, junk food, tobacco, and many other things if kratom is even a remotely possible issue

You're not missing out. It's pretty shit imo but I know a lot of people who love it.
Plus OP isn't straightedge, he's on meds, which are likely far more abuseable than Kratom

I'm not going to lecture you on the 'keeping clean' thing with this, because you've probably already heard it and ignored it. But I don't think it's really that serious of a plant/drug to begin with. I've eaten an ounce straight to the face with no kind of tolerance, and it got me way way high, but like fully functional and not fucked up. not a drug i ever went back to because of the intense nausea and mild effects.
ALSO: what medications are you on?

Far from unheard of that former opiate addicts get into kratom and then eventually go back to harder opis. seen it happen to lots of ODD regs. So i guess that's an issue you might wanna look out for. But it also works the other way, former opiate addicts get into kratom and its enough to satisfy their cravings and they just stay on kratom.
Damn, my 6666th post in a stupid ass thread

The only person who i know irl who didnt like kratom was when they tried corner store kratom. They tried kratom purchased online and they like it now. Maybe make sure you know that you have tried good stuff, at a good dose before you diss kratom because it sseems to me like waaaaaaay more people like iit than dislike it.

I'm inclined to disagree. Of my IRL friends who have tried it (legit stuff too, not headshop) I'm the only one who has remotely enjoyed it.
It doesn't affect everyone the same, and many don't care for it.

I'm alot of psych meds 404. I'm also on downers like clonidine, vistaril and baclofen. I notice when I Was using I Take baclofen throughout the day and it would make my 10 mg hydrocodone last well into the next morning if I took it earlier that morning.

I am researching and some people say this can help you get off of meds. I need to talk to someone more educated about this as this seems very appealing.
I definitely hate being on psych meds. I've been wanting off of them since 2011.

Kratom is a great alternative to pain killers, anxiety/ depression meds, and even stuff like coffee or adderall. Not sure about the psych meds though
I read a reddit story about a guy working construction around this crazy vet dude who would babble nonsense, well one day the redditter gave him some kratom and apparently he mellowed out and was actually speaking coherently. I think he said he was schizo or something possibly, clearly that is anecdotal but many people say kratom helps them feel "normal" especially compared to harder opioid pain meds.

No doubt, i can definitely side with you on not wanting to be on meds as ive been through much the same. However, it seems like you've been more stable lately, are you positive that stopping would be a good thing?

Actually I just flushed them as per my sponsors wishes. I do have two months and yes i'm actually doing better mentally because of gratitude and some more meds I was put on.
I am looking for a solution outside of AA and i don't think it's going to work.
