For somebody to "go down the wrong path" from kratom use is honestly laughable.
The only person who i know irl who didnt like kratom was when they tried corner store kratom. They tried kratom purchased online and they like it now. Maybe make sure you know that you have tried good stuff, at a good dose before you diss kratom because it sseems to me like waaaaaaay more people like iit than dislike it.
I'm inclined to disagree. Of my IRL friends who have tried it (legit stuff too, not headshop) I'm the only one who has remotely enjoyed it.
It doesn't affect everyone the same, and many don't care for it.

I'm alot of psych meds 404. I'm also on downers like clonidine, vistaril and baclofen. I notice when I Was using I Take baclofen throughout the day and it would make my 10 mg hydrocodone last well into the next morning if I took it earlier that morning.

I am researching and some people say this can help you get off of meds. I need to talk to someone more educated about this as this seems very appealing.
I definitely hate being on psych meds. I've been wanting off of them since 2011.

Kratom is a great alternative to pain killers, anxiety/ depression meds, and even stuff like coffee or adderall. Not sure about the psych meds though
I read a reddit story about a guy working construction around this crazy vet dude who would babble nonsense, well one day the redditter gave him some kratom and apparently he mellowed out and was actually speaking coherently. I think he said he was schizo or something possibly, clearly that is anecdotal but many people say kratom helps them feel "normal" especially compared to harder opioid pain meds.

Oxy took away all my anxiety, and to be honest I probably could have weaned off of some of my meds.

No doubt, i can definitely side with you on not wanting to be on meds as ive been through much the same. However, it seems like you've been more stable lately, are you positive that stopping would be a good thing?

Actually I just flushed them as per my sponsors wishes. I do have two months and yes i'm actually doing better mentally because of gratitude and some more meds I was put on.
I am looking for a solution outside of AA and i don't think it's going to work.

that's odd. by "used to do heroin" you mean he had been clean a while when he tried kratom? How long?
