Hey found this flatcap. Found some last year and someone on here I'd'd them as libs. What dya think?

Certainly not a liberty cap. Looks more like one of the blue Stropharia species. It is just blue and not actually staining that color. Cool find!

Hm, the caps bruised from the grass lying on it I think, if it goes blue when bruised does it not mean it's active? Here's a few pics of the ones I found last year

I think its more the cap was entirely blue at one point, but faded due to sun, age and weather exposure except for where the grass sheltered the cap from those conditions and thus preserving the color longer.

It won't make you trip, its probably not toxic and generally not considered edible. Certainly a cool find worth posting though!

Ahh I see, cheers for the info! I may have eaten somr of them last year haha along with proper libs.. could be why the trips weren't as strong as I would have liked!to

Heh. At least most mushrooms that will be confused with a liberty cap aren't potentially dangerous.
