The beauty of those moments can ensnare or enable, personally I think to understand it all is to never exist. The not understanding gives the profound moments their power.

Absolutely. I just know, whatever it is, that I long to reconnect with it.

If you stand at one end of a long shipping container and look down its side, the light reflecting off the far end of the side will take longer to reach your eyes than the end closest to you.

Would you be observing one object in two (or more) different time frames?

Does the fact that I don't get that mean that I'm high, or just stupid?

:mindblown:

Is my neighbor really me and will I over infinite time have to be everyone's neighbor?
How many pairs of shoes must I walk in?
Who is I in the first place? Am "I" just a fragment of we? Who are we?

I wanted to go there when the thread first came up, but thought I'd be going too deep too quickly. Was I wrong?

It means you are not high enough

Light travels at a constant speed, let us assume 1 meter per second. If the far end of the container is 20 meters away, it takes 20 seconds for the light to reach your eye therefore what you are seeing it 20 seconds in the past.
Now let us assume the closest part of the container is 1 meter away. You would be seeing that part 1 second in the past.

Therefore, would you not be observing a single object both 20 seconds in the past and 1 second in the past at the same time? (Two different time frames).

You would be.
I think to clarify your dilemma you should state that the object is rotating or translating across the field of view. This further sharpens your question of "how is it possible to view one object at different time frames?"

Does it not?
Also yes this would occur but I doubt it would appear unnatural

You make a good point. If the object was rotating then the 'different time frames' of the single object would be constantly changing.

Would that mean if you were to manipulate light, you would be manipulating time? Or the perception of time I should say...
