Progress #1 Growroom/Lab Build

I recently was lended/saved up 25,000$ to start up a gourmet mushroom business for the markets, restaurants and grocery stores on Whidbey Island, Washington (outside of Seattle)
I'm in the process of building a 10'x20' grow room and a 10'x20' for lab/incubating. I use 10'x20' because that's the largest I can go without pulling a permit and is plenty of size for start up.
I'm starting w/ shittake and different oyster varietys and eventually turning to ports and criminis once I can expand and build another growroom. Eventually I'd like to get into reishi and other complex shrooms.
I'm working w/ a college farming program down here that teaches students over a 8 month period on all sorts of farming in hopes to get them to start their own one day. If you've read about mycogardening/mycofarming, awesome. I'm working with them to teach them about inoculating their soils to better yields and all around growth.
I'm posting this so you all can follow my progress and hopefully share some knowledge along the way.

*in the picture that blue shed is 10'x10' and will be rotated 90 degrees to the left then bumped out into a 10'x20'. Then the other 10x20' will run along the same way.

Very cool! Im glad you decided to keep us in the loop. For the interior wall coverings in your lab and grow room try to find something that is platic so it wont grow mold. Also easy to clean and disinfect. I would stay away from sheet rock.
They make white plastic panels that can be sealed up with silicone to help prevent moisture from getting behind the paneling. Might also be a good idea and put a layer or two of killz anti mold paint on the wood interior before you do anything. Also look into mold resistant insulation if you decide to insulate. I would definitely do this in your grow room since the humidity is going to be really high.

Thank you!
I was looking into those fiber glass panels for the walls and still deciding what to do with the floors. I don't own this property yet, we are trying to buy it but since it's not set n stone I don't want to concrete the floors because then I'll never be able to move it.
I was thinking maybe vinyl for the floors? Roofers use it. Any suggestions?

Fiberglass reinforced panels FRP are on the pricey side. EPDM is also not cheap. For the floor I don't think EPDM will hold up well. Tough one, need a good solid base. Maybe raised floor once again not cheap but moveable. Then Panda film everything? Concrete would be best.i have heard of pouring thin concrete but still would need a good packed rock base. Just my random thoughts...

Nice! For the floors i would recommend some foam board then outdoor grade plywood finished with some heavy duty liner. Lipa lined his greenhouse with it, i forget his source but its fairly cheap per yard. Make sure you tilt the rooms to one corner and install floor drains or tilt em towards the doors and grade the corners near the doors for drainage out the door. This helps for 2 things, excess moisture/leaks and for easy cleanup using a hose. Welcome to the forums!!

I just decided I'm going to concrete the floors making it easier. I'm going to build the frame of the 10x20 so each wall can be taken down if need be to move one day. I'm more than likely purchasing this house so I won't have to move but I just wanted to plan for it first incase. I have a drain drawn in my design.

Update~
Using existing 10'x10' for lab and partial incubating area
Building the separate 10'x20' which will have a walk in entry room which will hold some storage and the rest of my incubating. It will also give a buffer from the outside climate to the grow room. With the front room it will still give me about 10'x11' for growing which will be perfect to start and expand.
With a 10'x11' grow area, how many ultrasonics will I need for humidity? You guys recommend oil heaters for small spaces like so? I'll wire it up to a thermostat.
Let me know what you had to add to your grow room later on that you wish you knew @ the start. I understand most of it will come with trial and error.
Build should start in the next two weeks, with a 8 month pregnant partner and me working 6-7 days a week it's been busy. BUT I've informed my boss that after the baby is born I'll be working less, which will give me more time for baby AND mushrooms!
