You should look into using a fish tank heater just to keep your jars at 81f
That would help but you are still using electricity.
Not me central air is on all summer/fall How can you stay that hot...lmao

I used a 1:2 ratio on both of the tubs. The spawn was clean as far as i could tell and was 3.5 quarts spawn to 7 quarts sub. The 50 qt is one week older then the 66 qt.
The 50 quart is only 22 days old and pinning like crazy...there are literally thousands, more and more keep developing every day. I dont think its stalling but i could be wrong...
The 66 qt is only 15 days old, and just began pinning yesterday...
I think the uneven flushing has more to do with skiping colonization and it being a multi spore grow...but again i could be wrong...

Yeah I was definitely thinking about that and i have a heater too..It was part of the total scam grow kit I purchased when I was just getting into the hobby.
Atleast i will put some of that garbage to use!! hahahaa
Sometimes I turn it on at night just so I can sleep but that's about it...I am absolutely miserable when I'm too hot too hahhaha

I worked with a guy for years who never turned his A/C on because he never had one. He had like 4 kids too. I never understood it myself.
I think your fine with what you decide to do. I keep my sub rather moist but not everyday..like every 2 days i mist it. If its drying out maybe dial your tub in some more and see if that helps any

No problem glad i sorta helped and thanks!
Once your fan is on check the moisture rings. Should be like half an inch in diameter around the holes. Thats what i look for when i do mine. It may help.

How come everyone is gettinf fat saucers and not me waaah ... haha looking good petey boy... my spot also was hard to keep in the low 70's but id rather have slower growth then faster growth with bacteria you know?? The only prob is it went from 95°f down to 60 real quick and the night it gets down to 45 so i have to get a little space heater

Yeah the mutant strain is the same for sure! Everytime i look at it it seems as if there are more pins! I'm just hoping they all grow!
I'll send ya a print of the mutants once they are ready!

My holes arent exactly 2" more like 1.5" maybe bit less even. So i just go by half inch radius but that works for me so i keeo doing it. Since your holes are bigger than mine, you may want bigger moisture circles You know what i mean? I dont want to confuse you anymore than what im confused as right now. Frank has a good write up about how to dial your tub in. Just in case you havent read it before.

I did 1.5 inch holes in the tub, but i thought i needed 2" rings of evaporation around the holes. I need to tighten up the poly for sure...
Ill check out Frank's tek, I breezedthrought it a while back but i guess i didnt absorb as much as i should have lol...

The evap ring doesnt need to be 2.34564" exactly haha if there is a small ring youre good the top should have a line running down the tubfrom the hole

Yeah peteyboy I think you may benifit from bottom watering at this point. I forgot you fruited at spawn. If there was too much air flow and you didnt mist until now then your sub is probably drying out.
I taped my holes and fruited after ten days and got pins only two days after fruiting. There was lots of moisture to go around during growth and even after my first harvest I found my sub could use a heavy misting.
I know you want to see beads of moisture on your sub while your pinset is coming in. But not sure how that works with a casing... maybe a TC can chime in about that one

I trust you Comeback, but I will wait to hear from a TC, I gave them a real heavy misting this morning after you mentioned it looked dry, almost too heavy, had to grab a paper towel and sop up some standing water...Things do look more lively already and its only been a few hours!

lol, theres no such thing as "too much spawn", going above 1:1 is kind of redundant, but using a lot of clean spawn does NOT cause problems...in fact it makes colonization faster due to more inoc points as well as putting out better/heavier and more flushes...
Yes, there is such thing as too much spawn
Over 2:1 can cause problems just like I'm seeing pictured. I've grown ksss many times.
It can also cause mutants. Also can cause blobs if I'm not mistaken?? Mutants for sure tho
If u used 1:2 ratio, the spawn wasn't clean. I just had this happen to me as well recently pins looked JUST like that and it was the same strain also lol
Cronicr called it, bad spawn. Pm cronicr ask him what he thinks... I bet he says bad spawn
Do the shake test from now on
Spawn ratio = (wet weight of spawn TO a dry weight of substrate)
