Hey everybody! Just getting this in my threads, anxious to get back out and see some familiar faces in familiar places this season, maybe I'll finally catch up with you at the big'n Piggy

That cyan ofib looks so off to me. That just shows my ignorance though.

Well to be fair....I am only about 90% sure about my ID. I guess when the next flush comes in I will have to reexamine to be absolutely positive.

Slugs and careless hoofs/Feet. Otherwise,Still looking good Hopefully tonight's rain will beef them up. My other spot from last week had a few ready but for the most part still a bunch of pins. Cluster of pins with dark caps is a new spot starting to show some signs of life.

Here's some of what I found a few days ago, on 10/2:

The grassland cyans weren't really poppin' up yet, but I was finding quite a few hanging out under the blackberry bushes (where I imagine it's a bit cooler & moister) & on the fringes of the forest -- the season will be in full-swing here within a few days, me thinks...

I've been hunting around Lincoln/Tillamook counties -- are you further up north? I'm sure the grasslands'll be poppin' really soon here but two days ago it had still been a bit too warm so they were only hangin' out in the shaded blackberry-bush-kinda-areas

Also, this is a first for me -- this cyan was growing directly off of a pinecone! Never seen that before... Picture qualities not that good but I got the base of the stipe & the cone in focus:

Just moved to the Eugene area a little over a month ago and did not realize that actives grew so plentifully out here! Now I am really excited and will be sure to keep my eyes peeled. Hopefully I'll have a picture or two to post soon.

I've been working both as well. Coastal and urban. Been going out once a week to the coast for the past 3 weeks and I'm pretty certain they'll be popping soon. Tillamook county had a frost a few days ago it was unbelievable. The sand paths were solid until 1pm and the brambles kept a lot of the frosted dew when I left at 3pm.

It's been my observation that cyans LOVE Douglas-fir cones. I want to make a whole tub of only cones and cyan butts this fall and let it cook over winter. Come spring time I can drive around and just chuck handfulls into whatever chips I see.

Ok so ive posted these up for a TI to ID. He stated that they look to be in the Gymnopilus Aeruginosus-luteofolius clade. I've had them drying in a dehydrator almost all day today and I do not see a lot of bluing. Maybe a few green spots here and there and then some blackening on the stems. I've never really taken the time to mess with Gyms so I am still learning. Should I expect to see more blue/green on them or is it typical to not see as much based on them not being active or low potency? Anyone with with experience please chime in.
