Really strange pins, maybe aborts? *part 3* Updated 10/11 1st flush canopy!

To the people that view this: I just want to know where I messed up and why the fruits are so small! This is by far the strangest tub I've ever had and I've honestly never seen anything like this on shroomery.org. I love the way that mycology always has surprises up it's sleeve! Please let me know what you guys think.
These look like mature mushrooms, not contaminated or aborts, but they are just fk'ing small:

This tub was created with a Thailand-Koh Samui Super Strain Multispore syringe
I am brand new to Liquid Culture, Wild Bird Seed and Damion5050's coir tek. I failed miserably on all LC inoculated KSSS WBS / BRF jars. They all got some sort of contamination. I'm wondering if this syringe was messed up from the get-go.
My first time liquid culture jars made with honey seemed to be fine however. I had a jar "A" and a jar "B". Both of them seemed to have normal growth so I mixed my jar "A" and jar "B" set of inoculated WBS jars together for my tub. Previous thread for my LC is here:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23580818
So now - after forever and so many different time consuming processes, I have the smallest mushrooms known to man. Based on this completely separate post, the tub may have bacterial contamination:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23697159
It honestly is pretty funny to me that I have 1,000,000 pins but they are so damn small. Hopefully you guys are scratching your head, and honestly it won't hurt my feelings at all. Laugh it up, let's figure this out guys!

Ksss did this to me using unhealthy spawn once too.
Using spores to build a LC is asking for failure. Use spores as spores. Making a LC from spores is ass backwards its an extra step for no reason it takes longer and a added contamination vector.

about the LC.. I still maintain that it's too dry and bacterial AF right now, which is probably spawn related as well. Also 6 bottom holes is a lot. Most teks call for only 4, if those aren't dialed in right, you got a pretty dry chamber, assuming you don't keep up with misting (which it looks like you seriously haven't been)... They would also abort hella small from that as well, regardless of bacterial spawn, which you likely also have.

Interesting about the spores for LC. I am definitely feeling like a newbie now, I think you are talking about spawning to agar, but that can be done using a MS syringe?
bodhisatta, did you actually harvest? It's an interesting thought.
Thanks for the callout, my bad and it has been removed.

something that helped me out was researching 'clean spawn'
anyone can inject some pf jars/grains but its all about clean spawn.
either agar, or LC or LI whatever it is.. it must be CLEAN. after that you can do whatever you want.

Are there any top holes?
Fresh air comes in through the top holes and gets vented out of the bottom holes.
If you do have top holes and you still have all those bottom holes, you might think about altering your tub to a more standard build so that you can dial it in properly.
Also, the substrate is looking fairly bacterial. This-coupled with the lack of moisture in/at the substrate level- is probably what is bring your grow back. This was probably caused from taking a spore syringe directly to grain...which can be done...but is a gamble in terms of bacterial spawn.
I would look into Agar so you can clean up the syringe and get yourself some good clean spawn. Couple that with a standard tub made to spec-and I'll put my money on you growing the fuck out of some mush...

I do have two top holes. I have 2 2" inch top holes and 6 1 1/2" bottom holes. I got this recommendation from a separate post, but they could have been using a larger bin.
Can someone explain to me what "bacterial" contamination really means? I am feeling like a newbie here and was hoping to get some tell tale signs of this type of contamination and how to avoid / prevent it. It sounds like it's mainly coming from my "spawn", which brings me to my next point.
So when I think of spawn, I think of the BRF / WBS jars that I have inoculated with my syringe, and have 100% colonized in the jars...All of my WBS jars in this test were sterilized at 15 PSI for 90 minutes. But from this thread, spawn is being referred to as the main source of mycelial growth. In this case, could have been a weak LC Jar? Less likely the MS Syringe, right?
I'm really getting confused, but that's fine. I need to be schooled in this.

I'm really getting confused, but that's fine. I need to be schooled in this.
Any spawn jars created with a MS syringe are more than likely going to have a bit of bacteria in them. When you inoculate a jar of grain, a BRF cake, a LC, etc... with a MS syringe- you are making your grow vulnerable to the bacteria that is more than likely riding along with those spores.
The use of agar and 'isolating away from' bacterial growth will greatly increase the health of your spawn and will help prevent a bacterial substrate.
Coir will not contaminate on its own. My reptiles piss and shit in coir all day and I've never seen it contaminate.
If coir is your bulk substrate, and you are using spawn that was derived from a MS (multi-spore) syringe, your spawn is most likely bacterial to a certain extent.
Sometimes you can get lucky and there is hardly any bacteria in the syringe at all. I've been there. Sometimes you are not so lucky and the syringe is a piping hot bacteria cluster-fuck...
Hence the gamble.
Hope this helps clear things up a bit for you!

The substrate is fluffing up and getting blobby like cottage cheese. That is mycelium reacting to bacteria. You also have yellowing areas that are from bacteria, and from being dry. Your mycelium has no droplets/glistening to it. It's dry AF. It needs to be misted directly. Mycelium basically tells you what's up all the time. Right from the beginning. You just gotta get used to understanding the reactions.

Is there any chance of saving this tub for flush 2 and actually produce decent sized fruits? I'm getting definitely more misting...
Thanks in advance

Usually when I respond to my original post days later, no one responds... Does responding to my post move it to the new posts? I tried it one time and it didn't.
Any advice for future posts would be appreciated. I'm not so good with this computer business... lol

I'd recommend another strain, seems to be a fairly common thing with this one. Tighten up your technique for next round you'll do better.

I agree sandy_vag that's crazy that two others this happened to them as well.
Good to know! I really appreciate all of the responses guys.
Here are some interesting pictures from the bin that I captured today, after getting it into the light and spraying the F*** out of it. The flash is what makes that yellow myc look green, it really has more of a black tint to it:

So I really think I'm going to harvest this. I bet I could make a decent amount of personal / friend chocolates. How long should I wait? Until they are all bent over like some of them? lol

So I've let this set for a few days and I'm getting more surprised each day. Some of them are fat 1 - 1.5 inchers.
It looks like I might even get a decent flush. What do you guys think?

I'd say I have success. I'm guessing about 4 oz dried. These guys were short and plump like pumpkins! Just in time for halloween! They ended up growing, but just not tall. That's why the pins looked so weird!
When I harvested them, all I did was take my hand and scoop them up. They popped right out of the substrate. It's almost like they pinned themselves on the WBS and then started to pin off of each other. I'm super stoked, check out my first "well timed" canopy of the season:

I know that I waited a bit too long but they looked so weird that I didn't know. The second flush is pinning now - I think this tub was just strange because of the way that I prepared the spawn.

They really are very strange! Much different than the pictures you see online. Thanks for that feedback Mad Season!
I must admit that I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I spent way more time on this grow than my others due to the LC aspect because all of my original spawn jars got contaminated.
