Back when I was 14 I smoked and was using Ether and other inhalants. It wouldnt have occurred to me to ask someone for a light, it was super secret and covert. It was my own curiosity that took me to drugs. I remember being about 10 years old reading in my brothers kids encyclopedia about Mescaline and saw pictures of visual distortions and thought OOOH I WANT THIS! At age 11 maybe, heavily into chemistry books and pyro experiments I saw the structure of LSD and was enthralled by its complexity and that there were 10,000 doses in a single gram and I wanted to MAKE that stuff.
Drugs were always a part of me, one of the things I was born for, Psychedelics and Dissociatives.
I felt so capable at that age and holy crap I was but now, looking back, yeah I was a kid basically.
How would adult me handle kid me? Would I lecture, forbid, be permissive? Those were the thoughts that came up when youtubing social experiments and stumbling on this one.
I would educate.
In this day and age 14yo Asante would be a Shroomery member and no one would know he was a kid. And probably, there are more than a few even now.
How would we handle that, as a community, if like on Bluelight there was no age restriction? Would we give him a light? I think the Shroomery would make for a hell of a lot better drug education than his peers or DARE (does that still exist?)
Just random admin musings I guess

This is the only option Id really be all for. Shit I'd light it for him and show him how to do it. If he really wants to know, let him.

Way to go clutching at straws man. There's nothing that links those two statements. As Rep said:
Quote:
Repertoire89 said: You're not really an adult until around 25
That's the same for MOST men, whether they were drug users or not. IME, the ones that use drugs early on are often far wiser than non-using counterparts at any given age past 21.

I haven't met any 20 year old adults, 18 year olds are children

Right, and I smashed the shit out of drugs from 14-18 and still came out with an IQ of 128. Fancy backing up your argument with some case studies that chronic drug use before 18 retards mental development? Preferably not government propaganda funded ones, cause we all know their agenda already.

I didn't even start smoking weed or drinking until 18. Than hit it hard I've done basically everything you can. Slammed dope in a public restroom, smoked crack and heroin behind a dumpster in Vegas, busted up many lines on my screened phones. The list goes on and on.
Graduated with honors. Top 5% of my class out of 400 people. Drugs definitely did take my life on a collision course. But it is what it is. Batching about the 7 years I wasted isn't going to change it.
Now I'm 4 years clean of heroin and an active member of aa. I burnt my receptors out with a passion. But damn it was fun. Taking a different psychedelic 4 times a week for a solid year straight. Ah memories.

So you had an emotional episode even earlier than I'd thought?
I know when you rated me.
"This" just meant our "conversation" here, not a particular post.

nah, no way. Kid can go find a light elsewhere(though in my state some places will actually ID for lighters....not Philly....but some places)
The only one I answered differently on was the heroin one because I'd probably feel a need to pull some kind of speech out of my ass. Honestly with the recent batch of that super potent fentanyl analogue that's been killing even more people than fentanyl usually does in the states, that would be an incredibly scary sight.

Interesting results. Weed is 50/50 and I am very surprised. I'm glad to see the tobacco votes though. You guys really need to be the generation to end this.
But I will give every man fire. The PCP is tough tho. As for the heroin, we better have a talk about how sharing is caring.
Edit- And yeah you know especially with the fent running around. I'd feel obligated to tell him if it's been killing people en masse around us.

A few times some clearly underaged kids asked to bum a cigarette off me.
I gave them a cigarette.
