Mycelium contamination pf tek
    #23705110 - 10/03/16 09:35 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

greetings. this my first pf tek grow and the jars have already been inoculated. the problem is i have found little black specks at the start of the growth sight and wonder if it is contamination or just spore clusters or something trivial. another thing is the mycelium seems to be quite fluffy and i have heard that fluffy may mean cobwebs. please take a look at the picture and share your opinions. appreciate the help.

Looks straight to me. You shouldn't have a cobweb problem unless there's no air flow (like in a box or drawer or something similar that restricts air).

The biggest trip of my life was realizing all of the events and actions described in posts made by this account were never real and had never actually happened, but were instead the delusional ramblings of a severely mentally ill human being. I just had to move on for my own good. I love you all.

well i thought while colonizing in the jars you can put it anywhere. some people said you can put it inside a box hence i casually put them inside my drawer. looks like i was mistaken. however all good now have placed them on a bookshelf with enough light and air flow.

If you're lucky, and with pf tek luck is usually with us, thankfully, the dry verm layer protects the cake. As long as its dry. If it gets moist during sterilization, and it's hard to know if it did or not, it needs to be in the open so it can dry back out and do it's job.
