Confused on coconut fiber/husk, odd-labeled brick

Simple question, I've researched and found answers on both sides of the argument. I'm mostly confused because of this off-brand labeling. I have 6 bricks of "Zilla Coconut Husk Brick", but the ingredients say "Coconut Fiber", as the only ingredient. It looks similar to what I've used in the past, but it's been about two years. It is marketed as "Premium Reptile Bedding" - Has anyone used this, or can anyone chime in on the matter? Thanks for taking the time help out
Here is the exact product http://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/zilla-coconut-husk-brick-reptile-bedding

Dat be coir mon. Pastuerize it or even sterilize it. Add some verm. A little gypsum.
You're in business.

You should be cultivating reptiles and fish, not mushrooms.

Thanks. I ordered online originally, because well, I trusted the image and it looked very familiar. Seeing it in person, it is definitely very fine with a small fiber strand here and there.

Thanks you guys. Off topic: I've always pasteurized my coir properly, but I'm reading more and more about just using Damion's 50/50 bucket tek, and how coir is really contam resistant. Do you think his tek as-is, is sufficient enough? I'm using coir, verm, and gypsum only.

ive used the bucket tek a ton recently. its the shit.
what i do...
i follow 100% the first few times worked great but had to mix it to death after it sat. so i did a slight mod and its been easier.
i cut the brick of coir in half and use half the water for the batch. no verm yet. so i dump the boiling water onto the half brick coir and cover for 20 min. then i dump the other half brick rest of boiling water and verm, mix really good really quick cover up and cool until ready. make sure too use a painters bucket. it has a insulted rim on the lid.
i only do it this way cause i found the whole brick is a bitch to mix up at once. and following the tek you open it to mix it up after 30-60min so i like to keep the temp up with the other half of boiling water.
following the tek works awesome as well.

I just mixed after letting sit for one hour. These bricks were actually extremely easy to mix in with the rest, no excess moisture, it was field capacity off the bat. Sitting for two more hours before I use. My vermiculite is also large chunks, not fine powder, that may have had something to do with it.
I have another batch of substrate to make tomorrow, I may try breaking the coir in half ahead of time, I can see how that would save some mixing power.
