When a flush is finished?

Some of my cakes are opening their caps soon I think. Does it mean the 1st flush is finished then?
I mean, I can see the cake starts pinning on several areas and I am not sure if I can dunk the cake after I have harvest the the first mushrooms.
Here on the left side of the cake new pins are forming and on the right side the 1st flush seems to be done soon:

Another cake, same behavior:

I have also a strange outa space mushroom. Not sure when this one is ready to harvest, since the cap is deformed. Any clue?

Should I dunk the cakes after I have harvested the first mushrooms, even the pins are growing?
I would like to cut the mushrooms from the cake, as I have read its better to twist&pull. Is this fine?
Is this spaceship mushroom ready to harvest, or should I wait a bit longer?

I usually let the majority of them open before i harvest, then dunk for 24 hrs or so. The deformed one is open so its ready wenever.

I could be wrong so when someone with more experience comes listen to them but iv always waited til all pins either grew or aborted then picked all aborts and chunks off before the dunk.. and also don't roll after any flush just on initial first dunk.

In 2 days they won't really be pins. Consider picking them when you pics the larger fruits I don't think it will harm "pins" (shrooms may get waterlogged or abort) they are mostly water anyway.

Well, on the first image on the bottom left side of the cake new pins are forming already. Does dunking harm them, or should I wait until they grown mature too?

Like I saId, between day or two when the fruits are mature on the right side of the cake, the ones on the left won't be pins anymore, you can pick them all and then do your dunk. IME and from reading extensively, the smaller pins on the left may abort from the dunk.
I dunked a tray for 2 hours after a flush and left a 1" "pin", It aborted as well as the smaller ones, the mycelium decided it would rather divert energy to the 40 or 50 new pins popping up than complete the ones already there.
(Don't dunk your cakes for the amount of time I dunked my trays, trays require much less dunk time because they will fall apart if dunked too long, continue following the tek you started with)

Cakes like that can sometimes get pins that wont grow until later flushes. If they don't turn dark like aborts, leave them, and yes it's ok to dunk with them on it.

Unless you have a canopy style grow(from isolates/clones blahblah) a flush is rarely a 100% all or nothing harvest. i find i have 1/2 flushes more often then not.
as in around noon or whatever ill pick half and maybe 12hrs later/the next morning the rest are ready. i like to pick as the caps almost start to flatten. its up to you.
also twist/pull is fine for dense brf cakes.

A whole flush for a tray for me can last 1-2 days sometimes. Only on really even pin sets are most of them all ready at once. I twist and pull what I can and clip near the base if fully mature if they are clustered by not so mature ones. I treat my cakes the same way.

I find myself picking handfuls about every 12-18 hours or so. IME, it's very therapeutic, I put on some mellow ambient music and just start plucking away.

Interesting! I was wondering how to identify aborts. Now I know

Well, everybody just talking about full flushes (1st, 2nd or 3rd) but I agree it is more reasonable to pick them in several phases(Pf-Tek, BRF). Not sure if I really want to twist pull, since many new pins forming close to the big mushies.

Yes, good idea. I will try to use both techniques when convenient.

This is my very first grow and I enjoyed each step of the process. I learned a lot about mushrooms, developed patience (personal growth) and had very good conversations with people in the forum. Dude, this is a wonderful idea to finish my 1st (or 1/2 flush), which I am very happy about.
Also a big thanks to all the guys who answered all my noobie questions here. I was impressed about the kindness and helpfulness of the shroomery members here.
I hope I can provide also a little of what I have learned from you, to new people who need help.
