Buddhism didn't male any sense at first!

I finally found some good books.  Read books by people who have been monks or nuns for years in a monastery.  I have read Jack Kornfield, Red Pine, and the Dalai Lama.
I also read Tao.
I have been studying for just over a year and I figured it out just recently.  I use the practice of meditation, usually in a seated or cross legged position.  I look inside and outside and everywhere else.
I practice mindfulness.  I am mindful of thoughts as they arise, linger and go.  This is basically a science of mind developed by psychedelic thinkers.
I had a friend give me a copy of The Wise Heart by Jack Kornfield.  If you are into psychedelics and body work you might truly receive this book as it was meant.
Red Pine speaks fluent Chinese and compares hundreds of translations and commentaries before giving you his own regarding various Buddhist sutras.
The Dalai Lama is classic.  He tells me I should read all the sutras!  There are thousands of them and I will probably never read them all, but what I gleaned from my study of sutras is great.
Jack Kornfield teaches more the nuts and bolts of meditation and mindfulness.
PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its something Ive been getting into but its hard to integrate into my lifestyle. Especially being surrounded by others who dont practice. What little Ive got into Buddhism has brought me great joy and Im getting really good at keeping a cool head with less negativity and anger. I look forward to my work slowing down this winter so I can study more and meditate.

Do you have an ultimate goal, where do you want it to take you?

Could it be so simple that you are already that?

Buddhism is another route to being a certain type of person, with certain beliefs and certain practices.
Don't you want to transcend the person entirely?
I know you are that already.

I was shocked to learn that some people meditate 18 hours a day!  I want to meditate in a cave and forage for good things to eat.
