Why do my Oyster mushrooms look like something from a Sci-fi movie?

They are starving for air. You have to get them out of the box. Keep as humid as possible.

Can they still be saved or are they gone? What do I do with the parts that have already grown?

Some may come out of it. Wait and see after you get them in fresh air. Just pick them off if they dont improve. Better luck on second flush.

Closed mono tubs don't work for any oysters, not enough fresh air to fruit. You might also now have a bacteria eating those weakened fruits.
You can salvage with the all natural fruiting tek. Might be able to recycle those mono tubs.

Make sure they get plenty of light. Oysters need lots of light , ideally 12 hours.

I've taken the lid off the containers and plucked out every bit of oddly grown parts. They also get plenty of light now too.
My biggest mistake was that I assumed they would be similar to the Portobello mushrooms I was growing and I kept them in darkness.
In less than 2 days, it has already improved and I have delicious looking oyster mushrooms growing!
Thank you!

100% darkness for colonizing, day and night cycle for fruiting. Lots of fresh air, strong light, and lots of water.

Thanks for the early diagnosis, eventhough I had to get rid of ALOT of it, I believe the second flush has started to take place, and in less than 3 days, this is what it looks like now:

Well done. 5 star rating from me, nice colour, and well kept.

5 Thumbs.
