Well, an enormous number of people who start out with prescription opiate painkillers end up addicted to heroine, and doctor prescribed opiates are the primary cause of America's current opiate addiction epidemic, so I'm not sure that example really demonstrates what you are implying it does.

So jokes aside, you are a meth user?
Would you consider yourself an addict?
How often do you use and how long ago did you first start ?

Current opium epidemic in America and you're in iceland?
And jokes aside though I am not a meth user, nor do I plan on using it (I've seen what it can do to SOME people). I just think if you're intentions should be to inform and educate you don't do so in a biased manner.

Honestly the education about meth I did in this thread was not particularly biased.
I simply said meth is one of the most addictive and compulsive drugs because of its uniquely potent dopamine action and quoted expert sources to this effect , then explained that my motivation for sharing that information was a compassionate desire to help people understand the potential risks and consequences of the choice to use that drug.
It would be difficult to be less biased while conveying the relevant information.

I don't understand this question. There is a huge opiate epidemic in America. I am currently located in Canada.
What is the question?
My location doesn't effect the social problems in other countries.

Some people who use meth fuck up their possibly due to meth, some people who use meth fuck up their lives possibly not due to meth, and vice versa. Offering up only horror stories on how people "fucked up their lives because of meth" based on what you know is biased.

I didn't offer any horror stories.
I am not going to keep repeating myself - you are obviously either unwilling to, or incapable of, engaging in rational, fair communication.
Based on the evidence I believe that you are not only a defensive meth user yourself but also too dishonest to admit it.
That would actually be the most understandable and forgivable reason for your behaviour here- any other explanation would warrant even less respect.
Regardless, you have demonstrated to my satisfaction that you are not worth investing any more time in enagaging with.
My personal feeling is that you should be ashamed of your conduct in this thread, and I would encourage you to reflect on what made you behave so disingenuously.

I am an academic. I have a natural gift for writing that was developed in the process of completing three university degrees and a college certificate and authoring two theses.
Thank you for the compliment.

Personally I think meth is terrible. I used to work for a carnival and I hated when all my friends got a new connect. They'd be in a great mood for a while and suddenly they'd be begging to borrow money and then be in a shitty, unbearable mood for the next week.
Fuck meth.

Meth is more rapidly and severely addictive than coke because of its greater dopamine action and also is associated with more severe lifestyle deterioration on average (extreme weight loss, oral health deterioration, prolonged insomnia and resulting psychosis) although cocaine in Crack or intravenous form can be more severe in these regards than when used nasally.
However , cocaine in any form is far more toxic on the heart than meth and carries a risk of random sudden death that meth does not have.
On the flip side, meth is significantly more neurotoxic than cocaine and is particularly associated with damage to the dopamine receptors in the brain.
As it floods the brain with incredible amounts of dopamine the brain responds by down regulating the dopamine receptors and this eventually results in anhedonia and flattened affect, meaning the loss of the ability to feel any happiness or pleasure without meth and eventually even with meth.
This damage can take years to recover and may even be permanent.
The loss of the ability to feel any natural motivation, satisfaction or pleasure is one of the ways that meth use ruins some people's lives.
Meth is also associated with causing severe and long lasting psychosis to a much higher degree than cocaine which also carries this risk.
