Hello Shroomery! Hoping you'd be so kind as to ID some mushrooms for me :)
    #23701111 - 10/02/16 05:59 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Hello there!

So me and my friend found a bunch of mushrooms growing in his horse manure pile on his farm and we're fairly certain they're Psychedelic. The longer skinnier one's l'm not really sure, but the smaller ones l'm more certain are the correct kind.

This is my first time looking for Psychedelic Mushrooms so l really wanna be 500% sure before eating any.

Thanks for any help! l'll leave BBCode links below.

You should take spore prints of these two mushrooms.

the young mushrooms in your in-situ photo look like they could be Panaeolus cinctulus, but you need to do a spore print to confirm (it should be jet black)

I think The long skinny ones are Protostropharia semiglobata, a purple black spore print would confirm.

Pics 1, 3, and 4 have a chance of being Panaeolus cinctulus. The others appear to be Stropharia semiglobata. You have to spore print the cinctulus and make sure they print jet black and compare the print with a sharpie. Picture 5 I am unclear on because they are just pins.

1,3,4 look like jumbo cinctulus. Like others have said, you need a jet black spore print.
Also, my concern with specimens that big I would expect some zonating or rings on the cap, unless they were in direct sun, which fades all that out, because of drying. Were they found in a freshly sodded lawn or adjacent to horse manure. I have been looking at cinctulus for a few weeks now.

Wait for a TI. I'm interested!
