Mr piggy would need a TI to identify a pile of steaming shit from a mushroom, cuz he just hasn't proven that knowledge and judgement yet
Op you have a psilocybin ovoid, not a galerina as suggested by piggy

We have Trusted Identifiers for a reason....why chance it dude? Not like one ovoid is worth eating anyway.

Just today a "trusted" identifier "identified" a gymnopilus incorrectly. Nobody is perfect and I think it's funny the way you people seem to worship them. The badge essentially means that they spend too much time on the internet

So many holes in your logic. Did anybody ever say that TI's are infallible? Do they spend too much time on the internet? Who are you to say? They like mycology....if you don't....why are you here? They just happen to have proven that they know more than you do. So excuse the rest of us for not just taking your word for it. As far as I know, you could literally know next to nothing about mushrooms. When you have a TI badge, it is implied that you have earned some credibility. That is the difference. You sound like you are butt hurt you don't have one....and it is coming off as a bit pathetic.

I never once suggested this mushroom was a Galerina. OP asked if ovoids had any deadly look-a-likes and that came to mind.

Not a TI here, friend, but it's an ovoid. A TI should come along at some point and confirm for you...
Get back out there and see if you can find some more! We'd love some more pics

I'm not confident with the spore print colour. Looks too light. If you can run it past Alan Rockefeller, he'll definitely know.

I don't mean to be a dick but you probably shouldn't be eating psychedelics judging by your overwhelming sense of pre existing paranoia. THAT MUSHROOM IS 100% A PSILoCYBE. You have been told by many experienced users that it's a psilocybe yet here we are two pages deep and your still paranoid that it may not be. I cant wait for Alan rock-a-fuckin-feller himself to descend from mycoheaven and smite you with a positive PSILOCYBE identification.
Your second guessing and paronoia tells me your probably not ready for what psilocybin mushrooms have in store for you, but hold on tight and you gonna be alright!!

OP can dry the shroom and hang on to it until it's positively identified. There's nothing cowardly or embarrassing about being cautious. It's called being smart. I'm sure Alan would rather they ask then do something stupid. You, on the other hand.

If a Trusted Identifier were to come along, he would Identify this thread as Agaricus Ridiculous
Piggy says it is an ovoid, Hammer also thinks it is an ovoid.
If it is somehow not an ovoid, nobody doubts it is a psilocybe.
Somehow, in the midst of all this agreement, an argument breaks out.
