Hi guys. First time posting and picking so let me know if I screw up or if I can be more helpful. Thanks
Habitat: Growing in soil, in a cow pasture, in Southeast Ireland.
Gills: Grey short gills.
Stem: Long, Thin, dark grey/brown, smooth, solid
Cap: between 3cm and 8cm, grey, smooth, parabolic with small brown nipples
Spore print color: Not entirely sure but I'll attach pics when I've attempted it, looks dark purple or black
Bruising: Doesn't seem to change.
Other information: Smells like soil, I have a pile of ones that I am unsure of that I will post as well.
Thanks so much guys

Hey there folks, babby's first spore print is done and here's the results
Pure black which I think means no psilocybin. So it's probably a panaeolus, time for more hunting I think. This is an interesting endeavor regardless of how fruitful it is

Panaeolus species such as P. cinctulus or P. cyanescens have pure black print and contain psilocybin.

Panaeolus acuminatus, assuming they were growing from grass.

Yes, if growing directly from dung. However it is very common for liberty cap hunters to come across Panaeolus acuminatus in grass.

Interesting... Well I find paps in grass sometimes, they don't have to grow directly from dung, also they may appear to be growing from grass but there's really some poo down there. Maybe they are acuminatus, your always learnin me somethin Alan

Thanks for all the awesome feedback guys. So just for a little extra info that might clear some things up. I found them in a field where cows were grazing but it didn't actually appear to be growing from dung (at least not fresh dung), they were growing in very short grass, about 2m away from the ditch. There's a whole plethora of different things popping up around the area ranging from tiny purple ones to huge, pale, white, flat tops. If I get a chance this weekend I'll post more. Also, is it true that flicking the head of the mushroom as well as cutting the stem rather than plucking encourages further growth? I heard leaving the root network intact is vital for keeping the beauties growing year after year. I'll just stick a few pics I got this morning on some huge 20cm suckers I found. I left them where they were though.

Edit: only just now realised there's cat in the background

They wouldn't be growing from fresh dung anyways, coprophillic mushrooms grow from aged manure not fresh

Amanita rubescens.
Mushrooms release millions or billions of spores and have their own dispersal mechanisms. Handling and transporting mushrooms can spread spores further afield, but in situ flick-and-pick is unlikely to make a material difference.
