Adding more hpoo after first flush
    #23694537 - 09/30/16 04:27 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hi, I have a monotub that successfully delivered a flush of GT. I was wondering if I would be able to break apart the colonized "bulk cake" and add some more hpoo to put it through a new colonizing cycle in hopes to get a bigger second flush once re-fully colonized. Any thoughts?

'super spawning' and not currently in fashion because of typically poor results.

Besides that the grain spawn is the nutritional powerhouse. The substrate is largely for supplying water. Hence why coir grows usually perform as good or better than manure. And straw based substrates pump put nearly all their BE on the first flush since the grains are so well supplied with the hydration they need for fruit development

Seems like you'd be better off cloning some clusters and working with that

Might work, but if it's worth doin a second flush it is usually because you didn't maximize the potential of the first flush. That said, I have buckets on their 4th flushes, beautiful fruits and great yields.

Usually more worried about replacing the lost water than anything lost from the hpoo . As bodhisattva said, there's tons of nutrition there, water is the main thing you lose after a flush

Also might be some drawbacks to forcing the myc to go from colonizing to fruiting back to colonizing, where we usually colonize then fruit them out. Might be lots of stress, or confuse the culture.

Are you properly pasteurizing?
