I can pick a couple leaves off my bumble and chew them and it is a perfect feeling for laying in a hammock. I read somewhere that it is best to pick the leaves before they get any direct sun in the morning. I think it was a Thai thing. I'm about to put some compost on my plants. We're going to get some rain tomorrow.
For my first time, I took two cuttings. One from my bumble and one from the rifat. I used peroxide, rooting hormone, mini solo cups, a gallon size ziplock bag, and put 1" of water in the bottom of the bag. The Bumble has already started a new set of leaves. The Rifat hasn't. How do I know there are roots?

Dude that is amazing, I think you might be the first to get horns in that entire thread. What strain were the seeds for that plant? Also how old is it? Please post a pic of the entire plant.
Congrats man, I'd be hyped

rifat came, sadly the leaves are clipped, so cant really do a leaf comparison, might be better in general to wait till its bigger anyways.its a bit floppy but i expect it to stiffen up soon (ohh my), and its already got 2 branches off the main stem. so i suspect it will settle in faster then my original plant.

Ok Guy's! So I joined the club today thanks to a very generous and Awesome shroomery member!!!
Eleven Bumble Bee. One Rifat.
Rooting in solo cups with slits in the bottom. Placed in a clear tote. (Barely would fit!!!)
I dipped each stem in water then rooting hormone.
For soil I have hydrated coir/worm castings/perlite mix.
All the Cuttings looked beautiful when they arrived!!! Only lost about four large leaves and a few smaller new leaves.
So with a lot of Love and a little luck. Hopefully I'll get some Beautiful trees!!!

Congratulations
The cuttings look very healthy so they most likely root just fine. And 12 cuttings, that was a nice shroomerite i must say. Good thing with bumblebee is that it is the variety that seems to be most hardy against cold of all kratom varietys. Depending on where you live you might be able to grow them in the ground or outside year round. If you live where winters get very cold you must take them inside during the coldest months.

Snakeye grow them big and spread the love!
If in a few days to a week some of the stems turn black cut them off well above the diseased tissue and put them back in the soil..I've had good luck with kratom cuttings rooting the 2nd attempt. Just have to catch them before it travels up to far.
Growth is in full swing they are taking up water and nutes nonstop. I've been top dressing with lots of organic fertilizer. Same with the brugmansia. I'm about to try grafting GM onto a bumblebee and viceversa..just for fun.

Do you have holes in the solo cups? I generally see roots after a few weeks appear out of the pot holes. Once the roots start getting bigger and more numerous I repot them and start acclimating. You want a good amount of roots before acclimating so growth doesn't completely stall.

When I had my big tree, I never had success one time rooting them in anything but water. The stems would always rot when I tried rooting them in any medium but. If I were you, Snakeye, I would take out a few, and try some water, just so you have two methods going

One or two of the bumbles had what I think we're roots already!!! I put little black dots in those cup's.
I'll keep a eye on them. It's gonna be really rainy this week so they will have plenty of shade.
Thanks so much man!!!

They grow quite slow when small seedlings but when they get to the size of your Green Malay they really start growing fast. Your Mitragynas look very good, good work

I forgot about this, sorry Yeah, being as you have so many, I would try a few in a small container of water. What have you go to lose? Mine made good roots, with this method, back when I actually had one of these plants, haha! Keep em really humid, and mist often too. It helps a lot. Good Luck

Hohohoho, she's a good gal'
I think it's time for her to get a larger pot. I've noticed one some of my Green & Red malays that when starting to get root bound, the leaves starts to get bumpy and wavy instead of flat.
Snapped this picture today of my green malay

My plants are growing incredibly large, with the top leaves being larger than my hand. I've done one harvest so far; killed two entire plants and fell into a good mode after ingesting the dried leaves.
It's exciting to see all new kratom growers recently, I feel as more people are starting to understand that kratom works perfectly to grow at home under the right conditions.

Checked in on the babies today and gave them some air. Misted. And added three damp paper towels to the tote to help with humidity.
They are looking a little droopy. Lost about five leaves. I saw no blacking of the stem. But I'll check them better tomorrow when I have time.
I haven't had time to place any in water but I hope it's not to late. I plan to do two or three tomorrow after work.

When they spring roots. How will I tell? I'm a little intimidated by these.
I've only rooted a purple basil cutting, a Begonia I found in the yard, and cacti.

First set of clones acclimating outside. It's a bit windy but my new job kind of forces me to get them outside and out of the humidity tent. The other two are still rooting I believe but both of these have new growth so I think they have took. Crossing my fingers on the other two.
Any tips on acclimating from a humidity tent to outdoors? It's 70% humidity out now. Shouldn't be a major shock except for the wind I'm afraid.
