My poor Kratom plant in a smaller pot was more than likely starting to get angry with me so I finally got around to repotting it yesterday. I received them both as cuttings last fall. They were both about 5 inches tall with 4 or 5 leaves a piece. It went into a 20 gallon pot with Dr. Earth Pot of Gold potting mix as the main constituent. I also added pumice, greensand, fert, azomite, and FoxFarm Gringo Rasta Rhize Up. I’ll never use the Pot of Gold soil again. I always use Fox Farm but went with Dr. Earth because the guy I get Fox Farm from is a bit further away and I was being lazy. The pot of gold soil has got to be no less than 40% wood mulch of some sort. It’s awful. Suppose it won’t be an issue for Kratom but still. I’m not a fan. I have had good experiences with some of the other products by Dr. Earth though. Nothing world shattering but okay stuff overall. Anywho, here they are:

Any chance of an ID for these guys? Can post more pictures if needed.

I can´t make a sure ID but i dont think they are Thai red vein or Malaysian/Borneo Red´s. I would guess Riafat or Bubmebee but they could be Green Malay´s also. Maybe someone else is good at IDing the green varietys?
They look like they are happy and grow well.

They grow like damn weeds. I don’t know anything about them and have never looked into their care. I basically treat it like a vegetable. So never neglected but probably never done “right”. I’d probably care more if I had interest in Kratom. I personally don’t care for it at all. Originally I was interested for pain but I’d rather some discomfort/ mild pain than nausea. So now I’m looking to use them to trade and sell hopefully. I ended up cutting the entire side branch mentioned in a previous post of mine and gave it to another member here locally. I’m hoping he’s having luck rooting cuttings from it.

Hey Pink T, I believe you got those from me. I’d be willing to bet the big bushy one is a Bumble Bee, the other could be a B.B., PVI, or Rifat. They look great, they are at that point where they make noticeable growth daily. If you keep them, you’ll need to go to bigger pots again in a few weeks, and consider putting them in a tub of water so you don’t have to worry about watering them. That Bumble Bee will easily be 6 feet tall by the end of summer.

Holy shit! I’m so glad you saw this! I couldn’t for the life of me remember your name on here! And damn. Bigger than 20 gallons? I’m not even sure where to find something that large. Maybe Air-Pot has something or their DIY roll. Will definitely be keeping them! I only intend to trade/sell cuttings. You should see those Caapi Vines! Monsters! As it stands now daily watering isn’t an issue but if it becomes one or they start requiring more than that I’ll set them in a kiddie pool.

thank you MG! Thats big daddy. Hes been w me for at least ten years, probably a bit longer. Nah, its. Othing cool like an SS02.,. I do have some seedlings/young plants w that genetic profile. Although i would guess this is just a pc panch. It was from a BBB order waaaay back when it seems like the only options were: panch, peru and bridge... not too many options otherwise. Not like today anyway. Hes my big bubba though and ive propagated many cuts from him, many gifts and several doses as well. Just turned one etiolated branch, which originated from Him, into three seperate potted/rooted specimens... two of which are blowing up hard w pups and apex growth
I really hope my ss02 seedlings live to get to be so large one day

Hmm, i found what i think is thrips on my Mitragyna seedlings. Thats no good, there are about 20 seedlings in same big tub. I put soap, ethyl alcohole, neem oil and a few drops of essential oil in a sprayer and filled up with warm water, shake and sprayed down the whole lot of seedlings from top to bottom, inside and out. I hope it helps to get rid of the thrips, i cought it early so i might be lucky and this is enough. Better spray again in a week. Damn bugs.

I believe I've seen rolls to make the air pots, they also make huge ones. I just used a 45 Gallon garbage can to pot my bumble bee the start of this year, I'll take an updated picture when I get home. I'm just about to take a couple clones and thin out a couple spots. Since I put it in there its exploded, she's gonna go in the ground next

How’s that for a big ass pot!!! It’s 26 inches tall and 28 inches in diameter. This is a Bumble Bee, it STILL isn’t growing at 100% speed yet. I’ll get a bunch of cuttings from it next week, then I’m going to prune it into a bush that’s 8 feet tall or less. It can get as big in diameter as it wants. It will spend winter in my garage. I’m a big fan of the Bumble Bee strain, I think it’s the best strain for us in the mainland US.

Very nice, big Mitragyna plant.
Bumblebee seem to be the variant most aclimatized to north american climate. Or any northern climate. Don´t think any other strain is as tolerant to the winters. Riafat may be quite good also but bumblebee seems survive the worst winters best of all the variants. At least is that what it seems when looking at all north american mitragyna growers who post here.

Yeah, that sounds about right.
I'm very fond of the trifoliate rifat below. Is it called trifoliate or am I mistaken? Either way, I like it.

Stoked man. Way hardier than rifat imo. My bumbleton is getting way big too. Ill probably bonsai it in the container its in. Maybe take clones and grow it smaller container. Its a badass plant to say the least.

Yes, that's one of mine It's in well condition, I'll make sure to take cuttings of it, if it keeps growing three leaves at each node.

Awesome! Please keep us updated on it. Did it just start growing three leaves on one branch recently?

Wow, that is something i have never got so far, must be a quite rare mutation. Is the whole plant like that or is it a branch that got this tri-foliate growth? I really hope you can grow this into a tri-foliate clone and propagate new plants from cuttings. That is 50% more leaf on every node, a clone that will makes everybody jelous. Nice growing Micaele!!

I think it’s 4 years old. It’s pretty sparse right now, it will really take off the next few months. I’ll post another picture once it’s in it’s full glory. I lost a lot of plants last winter. I had more plants than space, which lead to all of them getting neglected. I literally couldn’t walk around in the room they were all being stored. I learned my lesson, I’m going to keep things more simple from here on out. I got 2 of the AOE RVT last summer, they died last winter. It took me 3 years to find them, so that was a bad loss for me. I was hoping to spread lots of cuttings from them around this form later this summer.
