Yerba maté has a pleasant effect, indeed. Or you could just take a spoonful of Kratom in the morning.

Oh that I do too, believe me haha  Not something I'd recommend everyone to do everyday though, it's much more habit forming than maté (or coffee) and withdrawals are no fun. Trying to reduce my daily intake (around 25g/day currently).

Do you source non fire roasted yerba? That's somewhat pointing towards mouth cancers but many publications indicate the temp of the prepped liquid. Most reports are of esophageal cancer, wich definitely will cause it, due to liquid temp being too hot but I still feel sun or indoor dried would be much healthier. Less carcinogenic particles on the leaves, depending on what they were dried on of course with that method. My locally sourced leaf is fire roasted and I'm worried about mold from online vendors who claim indoor dried, with my humidity in my neck of the woods. I'm a kratom user and I wouldn't buy or consume fire roasted product. Just me.

With that said, I've never been a coffee drinker I'm more of a tea man especially green. But I feel yerba has a way better buzz and kick than coffee or tea but maybe not espresso or some shit. I don't get the jitters from yerba or coffee but I do get noticeably anxious and palms and feet sweat with the mate. Green tea can give me jitters.

That's a good point, never thought about that. Mine is fire roasted too, I have a good size shrub but that'll never supply enough leaf.
I don't drink my maté the traditional way with a bombilla, I just pack tea bags and infuse just like tea and I don't drink it too hot (hot water from the sink then 20sec in the microwave on high).

IME for what it's worth when the freshest growth leafs are not as dark as the previous ones I check and correct ph then feed. Sometimes pH and iron is all it is.

You'll know soon when the leafs yellows and the veins are the last to stay green that you have more than a simple nitrogen deficiency.

I believe it's ancient tradition to fire roast the yerba mate. And did you top or prune your Ilex paraguariensis? I thought it was a tall growing tree?

Sorry to get off topic. I wish I could have something to contribute to this thread but no one wants to let the MoonFarmer try. I've offered every form of payment short of anything sexual haha. I've even offered my soul.

Happy growing :greenthumb:

Well, i can tell im very jellous of you guys who live in a climate where you can grow your Kratom and other plants outside all year round, or almost all year.
Here, the summer is so short i maybe can have my plants outside 3, maybe 4 months tops.
Luckilly i got a bigger house now, with a basement where i have a horde of growlights.
The electrical bill is not nice though.
But one must do what one must do to make it work.

I’m thinking I should “prune” these guys back some before growth really takes off with the warm weather. I got them last fall as rooted cuts and the. Nearly lost both over winter. I was think of splitting the first one into two and the second into three. I feel like they’ll grow all wonky this way.

Thanks Ferrel!  I'm glad that things are starting off on a good foot this year, my peppers & collards are doing good, got my first Pineapple almost ripe, the bumble bee is doing so good I should be taking cuttings soon, I have a few trich.'s that are doing great seedlings and a few bigger guys, between the garden, work, and my mycology I've been very busy, but its extremely rewarding to me.  Even trying my hand at some flowers this year to brighten up the front of the house :psychsplit:

Just tending to the garden and just love the amount of new growth its put out, going to pick up that rifat next week.  That deep red is coming from new growth from the older woodier part of the base.  Theres shoots popping out all over the hard stems at the base quickly turning it into a bush
:squirrelnut:

Hope you all are having a good day

Looking good Canharo!

My Rifat just branched on a branch. I think I'll start pruning it when it gets to 1m in height, higher than that would probably be hard to sustain in my current situation. Luckily, I'm far away from that. It's probably 50cm right now.
No sprouting from the Daun Jambu yet. Anyone else got any sprouting?

My experiment with putting 2 Riafat seedlings in a bubbler bucket seems work fine so far.

This is the bigger one in the bucket. It´s 35cm between leaftips when the biggest soilgrown is only 23cm.
I must make a new transparent plastic tube to put ontop of the bucket.
The current one is too small in diameter and lamp is way to close to the plants.

Riafat seedlings in soil. Also getting bigger now.
This one is 23cm between leaftips.
Hard to imagine they were only 1mm large not long ago.

Malaysian Red/Thai red vein seedlings.
Must repot these this weekend, they will really take off after that.

I have Malaysian Reds just germinating in straight coco but the Daun Jambo shows no sign of germinating yet.
I really hope i get some seedlings at least from this variety.

How are you seedlings coming along fellow friends?

All those plants look fantastic Mateo. I love them all. I wish i was at home more often but alas it cannot be. My seedlings are plugging along. Slowly of course. I even found small seedlings in my tricho peres graft. I xam move those out to individual cellls when i get back from work in 13 days.

Hi all, im new to this forum, but I've been lurking and learning from you guys for a while now,

The pics of your all your krats make me a little jealous ;-) beautiful plants,

I was fortunate enough to receive some green Malay seeds from an awesomely generous member on another forum,

I sowed the seeds around 6 weeks ago, at the time they where outside in my greenhouse, when we had very hot days/night's, there now inside under a full spec LED and are powering along

Apologies for the poor quality pic's, they where taken on my nasty $30 phone

I'm excited to finally grow my own Mitragyna speciosa! I received two Red Indo cuttings in the mail today, in pristine condition. They were planted in a mixture of equal parts organic potting soil, coco coir and perlite with an added handful of dried cow manure.

My Kratom cuttings have been adapted to their new environment and are growing steadily. I can't keep them in their current mini greenhouse for much longer though, since they'll soon outgrow it. So I'll have to choose between putting them in the grow tent under CFL lights, or finding them a good spot outdoors on the terrace. Not sure if they could already cope with outdoor conditions though? During the day it's rather hot (+25°C/+77F) and sunny, but at night temperatures drop to about 10°C/50F.
