They actually grew faster than i expected. Time do go fast, at least for me that is old. They be quite large sooner than you think.
I love to see how they develop gradually from the tiny little sprout to a seedlig that grows so fast you almost can hear it.

I might put a few seedlings in my clooner as well. They probably do good beside the Pereskiopsis.
No, this is a regular aerated hydroponic. They seem to have survived, but I guess your build will make them grow quicker

Good tip, I will place a few seedlings in my little aerated hydroponic too when they are a little bigger..
Mateo, that bubbler thing looks really cool! I will definitely keep that concept in mind.
They seem to grow at an exponential rate, I guess that's tropical trees for you? Got some dried leaf tips, I really hope it's not a fungus like the one bothering my Salvia.. but so far it just looks a bit dried out only. Most look good.
Take care when sowing them and heed that warning not to overdo it - I guess I did anyway because the seeds are so great in number and my rifat seeds did nothing. Tried transplanting to avoid having to separate them painfully but seems like i was a little early and probably overpotted.
Red vein lagging behind the green malay but on schedule I guess.
Nice job ferrel and glad you're joining in.

Do Kratom plants that are living indoors require a gradual adjustment to going back outside for the spring? They have been doing fine with about 35% humidity and average 68 degrees in my house. I don't plan to set them outside until the lows are 45 and higher.

I would definitely slowly acclimate them back the outside. Im sure there will be some shcok but i dont think anything too serious.

Any environmetal changes should be done gradually if possible. They adjust fine if taking it slow.

Any tips for cloning these plants? I took two cuttings from my plant a while back, middle of February I believe. I kept them in cups of water and under lights the whole time. After what seemed like a week or two, little white dots started to appear on parts of the stem that were submerged in the water. The growths never became roots and one of the cuttings rotted and died. And the other is still alive with no leaf or root growth. I think it is a lost cause as well because it has no leafs.

Can take a few weeks for them to form roots. Maybe your water isn't good for plant propagation. If you see those root nodules starting to form then plant the cutting into a well draining cutting mix.

Happy to join this thread! I currently have a Bumble Bee, Rifat, Pink and (my favorite!) a Thai strain. I've been planting trees in the ground around town, wherever I can lately. Last spring I planted a 4-5 footer in front of my house. It's about 10 feet now.

Socal has the perfect weather for a variety of plants.

your not afraid someone driving by is gonna recognize what it is and drive off with a bunch of branches? or god forbid the DEA actually gets around to making the plant illegal?

I seriously doubt people would even expect to find a kratom tree on the side of the road in SoCal haha. I know I'd probably not eat it if I saw it due to disbelief.
Amazing job doing that shmizzle, that's friggin' awesome!

Thanks everyone. I just planted another Rifat down the street last week as well. This one is already about 8' tall. I'll post some pics when it gets nice and established this summer.

Nope, not really. If anything I believe they will think its a guava tree at first glance. I pretty much donated it to the community anyway.

Right on! Spread the green! 8ft now..it'll be 20ft before too long if the ground is fertile and rains plentiful.
I had one that was topped and 14ft last year. Now it's a stump that's throwing up shoots. I'm going to clone them all and allow one to grow back into a tree
