Hey PineDown, Bumble Bee X Malaysian sounds like a very exciting cross!!! IME, Bumble Bee outgrows the others and Is the most hardy, Malay is the most potent but slower growing and the least cold tolerant. There may be a lot of variability among the offspring but I bet there will be some real gems there! It may take some time to sort them all out. THIS is probably the best bet for growing kratom in North America.
I’ve had positive dealings with Thumbprint on another forum, I don’t think he intentionally shorted anybody. I’ll take care of you on his behalf since I’ll probably have plenty of clones available in July. Send me a PM this summer.

Sowed some Green Malay that arrived in the post today. According to the grower, the pods were picked from the trees in mid December and sent to me only a few days later. He also plucked some Red Vein Thai earlier this month which should be arriving in a fortnight. I'll post pictures as soon as they sprout!

The tiny mitragynas are really starting to show their second set of leaves now. From nothing happening for about 2 months, to a daily change.

Thank you. Yes, very small. It´s the smallest non cacti seedlings i ever had.
I think humidity and constant moist soil is most important in this stage. If they dries they are gone. They seem to grow very slowly. Look at difference between Micaele´s over 2 month old seedlings compared to mine who are 1 week maybe. I wonder how long until they are like 10cm, long time i guess.

Sowed some new Mitragyna seeds yesterday. 6 small pots of Riafat and 10 small pots with Green Malay.
I hope these seeds have better germination rate compared to my last try. Im pretty sure this is the case as the seeds are very fresh, at least the Green Malay.

That was really good news Micaele. Congratulations! Your contribution to this forum is commendable.
I hope my green Malay also will sprout soon. Seeing yours sprout i guess it will only be a matter of days Germinating so fast must point at very fresh seeds.
I guess this thread soon will be more active with many trying growing Mitragyna from seeds and sharing their experiences. We should try to get hold of some more rare varietys. I would not mind dedicating some space in the basement for the Mitragyna family.
This Mitragyna Hirsuta i have seen online, is it similar to M.Speciosa? Anyone here growing it and can share some info? Maybe there is even more treasures in the Mitragyna family to be discovered.

Thanks, I'm really happy with the rate of which they sprouted! I hope to have some seeds of horned kratom by the time of summer. I would like to get my hands on some Bumblebee, but getting a living plant from US to Europe seems hard, and I haven't found anynone in Europe that has a bumblebee

Yes, you might be right and he have a M.Hirsuta plant/tree. I have seen pictures someone here were sharing with a M.Hirsuta. Maybe he can enlighten us a bit on how it is compared to ordinary M.Speciosa.
I have also found that seeds of another Mitragyna is available. Allthough, it is sold as an ornamental plant and might not have ethnobotanical properties. It is Mitragyna Parvifolia, called Yellow Cheesewood, or Kaim Tree or Leichhardt Tree. Anyone have any info regarding this Mitragyna?

Congratulations Micaele, that's great news! The seeds must be very fresh.
For the bumblebee I was supposed to be sent one from ThumbPrint some months ago, but he just disappeared ever since... If he ever comes back maybe I'll get my clone.
@Mateo, if those M. parvifolia seeds come from the french website we know for the rifat seeds then I had no luck germinating these, and I tried last year at the beginning of the spring. I think the seeds are too old.
Leichardt tree is not Mitragyna parvifolia though, it is a name for Kadamba a.k.a Nauclea orientalis a.k.a Neolamarckia cadamba. It's a common tree in SE Asia and looks very similar to kratom except the leaves are a bit thicker and have a bit if a leathery look. If you search the forums for people on vacation in asia asking for ID of what they think is a wild kratom tree, nine times out of ten it ends up being a Leichardt tree.

MG, The M. parvifolia seeds come from a big auctionsite US seller so it´s not the french site. And the pictures look very similar with the same Mitragyna looking flowers and all same attributes. He also names it Mitragyna parvifolia. But you are probably right even the similarities are stunning. They must be somehow closely related. I wish it were alowed to post links.
By the way, i got 3 seeds germinated (Riafat) from the French site so the seeds have extremly low germination rate but obviosly not totally dead. Or maybe i just got lucky.

Looking good JayWise! Do you have it under any light? With only a months progression it's looking really nice.
So far, 28 of the Green Malay seeds has sprouted. I guess Mateos GM should sprout any day now. Solopsis is probably still a good three or four days behind

Nice Thai red vein Jaywise, beautiful. That was good growth in a month, it must feel right at home under your care.
I had Thai red veins before but never got em to grow good. I think they wanted higher humidity. My riafat grew very good under same conditions. Do you live in a humid area and what light you use?
28 sprouted, very nice to hear Micaele. I looked at mine Green malays but nothing yet. I did notice 2 more sprouted in the first batch Rifat i sowed. Hopefully some GMs sprout soon.
