Sweet! I didn't know about that one. I read it and now I just want to ask, how is Richard doing now? I saw one picture on one of the posts of him and wow, that's huge. I almost didn't think it was a kratom tree. More like a young maple tree lol.

Maybe there should be a Richard clone tribute post... all the "Lil Richards" posted on a page.

I have my bumblebee in shade most of the day. Rifat and green Malaysian get more sun. They do great either or.

I have a many in pretty much full sun and they grow good. Just keep them well watered and fed. I always start cuttings in full shade and slowly acclimate them to full sun

I live in Alaska ... I've had a Kratom plant indoors for about 6 months with strong growth under a 4 foot T5 Grow light. It may not be a long term solution but it is currently thriving at this size (10-12 inches tall)

The kratom harvest has started! I've pruned and picked leaves off of my 4 Bumble Bees and my Green Malay. They are drying on the floor (I mopped first!) in the same room where they will spend the winter. They dry fast, but the leaf stem stays moist for a longer time. I think I will dry them on the floor, then put in a big cardboard box and put in my car parked in the sun. One afternoon of that should finish them up, and I'll then have space to dry the other varieties. I'm going to keep them all separate just to see if there is any difference in the end product.

Beautiful harvest JMZ, congrats! Would also be very interested in hearing your thoughts on Bumblebee vs Green Malay effects.
I harvested about 12 grams dry and deveined off a few of my 5 months old seed-grown Rifat plants. I'll report back on the effects of these young plants vs commercial kratom asap.
I also have a bit of this seed-grown Red Indo which is red asf, but not enough for a taster unfortunately:

Mean green, would be interested in your results and how much of a dose you are taking. I'm opiate naive and I'd like to try my own seed grown kratom leaves.

I actually took the lowermost leaf off of my rifat last week and decided to stick it in my cheek. I definitely felt something, but then again... I regard myself as a sensitive individual so it may take a lot less for me than most. It gave me a relaxed feeling and I could also feel it in my eyelids if that makes any sense... and my mouth & tongue went somewhat numb as well.
