Yup I have a interim tent. My clone tent runs at about 88rh, them my interim tent stays at about 65rh Then I move them outside although they will start going in my large green house once I finish with the shelving and auto mist system. Also I’ve treated all my soil with neem oil & I have no bugs and my clone tent is right next to my pan tent. I also have an electric gnat catcher and sticky traps but I’m actually really surprised at how well I’m doing against bugs this year

I think i have such bug problems with inside tents because i dont have good ventilation. It seems important if one having an inside growtent. I have a inline fan and ventilation flexible tube but i need to make it go outside in some way and i dont want to drill a 100mm hole through the concrete. Im going to construct a plastic window with a 100mm hole when i have time.

You have a HEPA filter in the air intake to the tent? Not the 0.3 micron flowhood type i guess, those are very expensive. A vacuum cleaner HEPA filter?

Thats a innovative construction. You would not need a hepa filter for the plants though but you mentioned mushrooms and thats a different ballgame. Your plants seem to like it and that´s what is important. I wish you all the luck, im sure those Mitragynas will be tree size very quickly.

Thanks bud yeah the Keaton tents are old mush tents so I just left em when the heap goes bad I’ll just replace with a cheap vent filter. But I bet the air in my house is super clean lol it gets pulled thru about 7 hepa’s & 1 carbon filter in its journey thru my house lol

My Kratom plant is struggling and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I used to have two plants, which lost all their leaves during winter in low RH. Because of this, I placed them in a clear plastic bag to increase humidity. Both plants grew new side shoots due to this.

Sadly they were attacked by spider mites. I treated them a couple of times and decided to remove the plastic bags and let nature take it's course. The main stem of both plants started dying back from the top down and they lost all of their leaves again. When spring came around the corner, one of the plants started growing new leaves from the side branches. The other plant was too far gone and the entire stem was dry and dead. The leaves of the one surviving plant don't last long though. The leaf tips turn brown when young and it doesn't take long before the whole leaf is dried up and falls off. The newest set of leaves look a bit more promising though, but has brown tips as well.

Last year, the plants were adapted to the ambient humidity of the room they're growing in. I did replace the old CFL grow light with a HPS, causing the room to heat up a lot more. Other plants in the same room don't seem to mind though. We're in the middle of a heat wave at the moment, and RH is fairly high. The room is closed off though, so when the HPS heats up the room, it will lower RH. I placed a bowl of water in between the plants but to no avail. The plant is also in the vicinity of a small fan, though I'm not sure if this would dry out the leaves faster. I could put the one surviving plant outdoors, but I fear it will get even more stressed from the change in environment..

Many of my Mitragynas looked like yours some time ago. Now i have them outside behind a plastic greenhouse where they get mixed sun and shade. I spray them every evening with the garden hose with a sprayer in the end. This treatment have had very good results and they started put out new leaves and shoots like they were crazy. Outside there is natural bugs that eat mites but one can spray them everywhere with a weak soap water mix to help them get rid of the mites.

I don't believe the Kratom plant is affected by spider mites at the moment though. So the problem likely is too low of a RH. I think that's a good idea, Mateo. I still have a small greenhouse with plastic cover. I can put the Kratom in there to keep the humidity and temperatures high, while preventing full sun exposure in the beginning.
edit: So I just placed the greenhouse outdoors in a shady spot and put the Kratom in it. At the bottom of the greenhouse I placed a large metal bowl filled with water to hopefully ensure a high humidity. I saw the plant was in the process of growing new basal shoots, so I still have hope for it.
I notice the quality of the cheap greenhouse is really substandard though.. The ribbons to tie the front flap were completely disintegrated and the plastic cover itself has many ruptures where it is attached to the zipper. I see a lot of shroomerites using this tent, but I have a little regret buying it. I don't think the plastic will last another year..

Lovely plants, Joc! Is the Kratom in your last picture planted in the ground, or did you bury the pot?

That one is my first plant. It’s in the ground. I may try & dig up & re-pot come fall it won’t survive the winter. I’m only using her for clones really anyway she would be much bigger by now otherwise but every clone I take creates 2 branches.

It's good to see someone growing lush Kratom plants in these regions, it gives me hope my sad plant will revive. How old is your first plant and do you know which strain it is?

When you clone you want to find a branch that has three sets of leaves coming off of the main stock cut 1/3 up between the second and the third set of leaves . Then take a sharp razor blade and cut the stem of your trimming at a 45° angle. I’m using an aero mist cloning system you can make one or find them on amazon (clone king) I add “cloneX by growth technology” to my water and set back & wAit. I have 2 HLG 65 v2 4000k led lights (also amazon) in the tent over the clones. I then have a reptile fogger that holds 80rh

LifeUnderAwno said: Besides beans, I've heard that pulses (like lentils) and clover (the common 3 leaf with the small white ball flowers) may also rely on and maintain N-fixing mycorrhizal fungi/bacteria. Basically "leguminous" species.
I was hoping to experiment soon, but has anyone tested this?
LifeUnderAwno, while I have not done this with potted plants, I have experimented with this a lot growing in ground. I have two large garden beds about 5k sq ft each and have grown leguminous cover crops on a large scale. The idea here is that legumes (field peas and clover predominately in the winter) will grow and create a large amount of biomass as well as capturing atmospheric Nitrogen to make available to future plants. As the beans are cut/plowed/mowed under, this Nitrogen is released to the soil to act as "fertilizer". Cover cropping has worked wonders to break up my heavy clay soil, improve drainage, and increase biodiversity in my soil. In addition, I find that adding beneficial bacteria/mycorrhizal fungi only helps everything.

You could experiment with some beans from the store. Just soak them in water for a day, plant into your potted plants, let them grow for as long as you like, then just cut them all the way back. It won't hurt anyway. Give it a shot.
If you want any help just pm me.
