I just realized today that one of my babies had scale bugs
So I picked off all the visible ones(the adults) but I did it with a small pin so I accidentally scratched the 2 main leaves a little so Im going to wait until that heals up. I think by tomorrow theyll be good and then Ill do some cotton and/or q tip alcohol wipe downs of the whole plant and Ill also do it to the other ones as a preventative measure just in case there was an unnoticed cross contamination.
Ill keep you guys posted.
Luckily the amount of scale bugs and damage didnt look to bad.

I had no idea what scale bugs were as I was reading your post... Then a quick google search reminded me 'I had the same thing on my first plant!' Tho honestly I had no idea it was a bug tbh lol... I just picked them off one night and I wanna say that was the end of it.
I like to use essential oil sprays for my krat... Neem was my go to spray for a while... Now I use a mix of cinnamon leaf, tea tree, orange, cedar and maybe another one... But I think that's the line up.. All EO's with a drop of dish soap to help everything mix nicely. Works good and smells great. Neem's prob good enough tho tbh

Ahh, nice plant love light... Very green indeed
And no way KBG on the aquarium water? That's super cool and eco friendly... Do you feel like the poop, algae and whatever else acts as a fertilizer of sorts? It's good to go, right from the tank?

Hmmm I have some insects on mine. Got a little neem oil I was using on myself. You say mix that with some soap and water? What sort of ratios are we talking? Just enough water to get it airborne?

Neat idea indeed.
And Jackson... Not soap and water. Here's my current run down in the spray bottle:
5 drops of orange oil 6-7 drops of cinnamon leaf oil 4-5 drops of cedar oil 3-5 drops of tea tree oil 1-2 drops of dawn dish soap
All contained in a spray bottle with a 28oz capacity (about a quart). The water is home filtered RO.
I like this blend but like I said neem may perhaps work just as good. I really just hate the smell of neem and having to handle it. The mix above seems to keep a little longer as well
What kind of bugs are you fighting exactly?

Yeah i had that neem on my hand for about a week and was embarrassed to go into public smelling like BO I'm not sure what type of bug it is honestly. They're little whitish green guys who seem to lay eggs on the underside of the leaf. I can mostly pick them off with a q-tip so they're definitely not over the top.

Thanks MH... You know I really was hoping to, but the vial I have at home is my girlfriends. She's so into it for aromatherapy and as a perfume of sorts, so i saw fit to wait and just buy my own soon. The next bottle for sure

Ya I had no idea what scale bugs were either. I first noticed them when I first got the clone in the mail. I thought they looked odd and none of the other plants I got in the same box had them. You probably saw on your google search that most people think they are just little imperfections under the leaves and on the stem. I like most other people didnt think much of it but I did think to myself, "Ill just keep an eye on this" and yesterday I dont remember what thought went through my head but for some reason while spraying the leaves and checking for pests I just thought to try and pick one off with a pin and I came right off. It looked like a tiny little green slug and at that point I realized they are not part of the plant so I picked them all off and then I did some research. Thats when I found out what they were. Its said they usually attack a plant when its under stress. And rubbing the whole plant down with alcohol and q tips/cotton is the most common way to treat for them. The babies walk around the plant but once they become adults they they stay in one spot.
I definitely need to get myself some oils but Im strapped for cash at the moment. I'll get some soon.
I do however have a brand new bag of Diatomaceous Earth I found laying around my house.
Has anyone here ever used Diatomaceous Earth in the garden?
I know its safe and some people use it but I would like to here a how to from someone who has used it first hand.

Ive had bad scale infestations on trichs before but never on my plants. Well not potted. Ive had it on my citrus tree before. Sucks but they seem to build defenses and it just goes away.

It looks good but dont worry about ambient humidity. Take the bag off. Its a very resilient plant.
Thanks for the tip, I've removed the bag
Also, I'm happy to say that my plant seems to be in good health and is growing fast! Here's a few pics I took today of the new growth
