If OP is using a 23qt presto, and it looks like he is, 1100 watts is plenty. AAs are much thicker and will take longer to heat up, but 1100 watts will do a presto with no problem.

Its a 16 quart Presto. I saw the 2 versions on Amazon, both with the same quart jar capacity, both for about 70. Found the 16qt at Walmart for 10 bucks cheaper though, so I went with that one.

I also have a Walmart special, a Presto.  I used mine this spring and had to clean out that piece for it to seal.  There was a bit of plastic in it.

Definitely.  I started with a shitty portable burner cause I worked for a carnival and didn't have a kitchen, it took forever to  heat up the small pc I had. 

Glad you figured out your problem.  I'm guessing you don't have a stove either?

Actually the 23 you can fit 10 in just lay 3 around the top jars
