Given that you are older than 18 and live on your own and have your own room, youd be better off growing invitro tampanensis. Knock up the jars, put away in a printer paper box (those boxes with the two large hand holes on the side) in your closet up high with a bunch of other boxes labeled something stupid. Harvest truffles after 6-8 months and enjoy.

ANyway in the end if you are able to produce clean spawn it would be a complete and utter waste of time and resources not to easily fruit them and instead getting maybe a buzz from a large quantity of sub/spawn.
You act like fruiting is such a problem but it is the easiest part.
Also what you linked to on mycotopia was crap and was referring to already fruited cakes.
OP DON"T EAT YOUR CAKES>
BEST BET IS TO GET SOME CONTAINERS WITH SOME HEADROOM AND PUT THE CAKES IN IT WITH A CASING EITHER VERM OR CVG AND TOP FRUIT MAYBE WITH A BIG HOLE FILTERED LID (SFD OR MICROPORE) OR POLY OR SIMILAR. I USED TO TOP FRUIT MY PF CAKES(even without a casing layer) IN A QT PP5 CONTAINER WITH SFD LID AND GOT OK RESULTS.

Yeah stones are my go to advice for paranoid people or people needing to hide the op. I bet they even do well in colder temps since they sit for so long but dont take my word on that. I lost my Mushroom Cultivator book.
