The acid makes the psilocin more readily available to your mind, or so people claim, I don't think anything has been proven.

vitamin C aids digestion. Makes the visuals way more intense, but shorter lasting of course.
Taking lemon juice with it, will make you FLY-but the visuals go away pretty quickly.
I prefer not taking vitamin C, being that I like to feel the full effects for a longer time.

Oj(v-c) relaxes the body and mind. There is much sugar in OJ.
Beyond that it does nothing.
Its not going to make you trip more intense, visual, or whatever bullshit you are hoping it will cause.
Vitamin c doesnt do anything special when tripping. Vitamin c does what V-c does.
Read up on v-c.
You will then know all you need to know.
The only thing it does is what it already does, causes a psychosomatic state of relaxation, adds sugar if taken in the form of oj or something, and oj is acidic which helps with whatever is being absorbed within the gut.
Its pretty simple.
The effects of V-c on its own is sort of what this subject is all about.
Its no big deal. It does not make you trip harder.
The only thing it can do is relax the body and in turn, the mind. This may lead to a more intense trip, because you are feeling good, healthy, relaxed, concentrated, and "with it".
Thats all there is to it, and the natural sugars found in oj have a whole hell of alot to do with it too.
Hope that answers any questions, and if you dont believe me, look it up.
Oj is not some special thing when tripping.
I actually avoid all sugars and caffeine before tripping. I would maybe take a v-c pill if I wanted to try that again. No sugar. The sugar in oj. Thats where alot of this psychedelic lore comes from.

Haha sorry for bringing up an old post, but I was busy studying for a biochemistry exam and I came across one of the functions of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid).
Well here's a short paragraph from the book.
Tryptophan Metabolism (basically the breakdown of tryptophan) Ascorbic acid is necessary for the hydroxylation of tryptophan to 5-hydroxy tryptophan. This is required for the formation of serotonin.
Basically what their saying is that ascorbic acid helps breakdown of tryptophan to allow for more serotonin to be produced. More serotonin released into the synaptic junction = more of a fucking better trip.
I'm just going to assume, and tell you that you should maybe take something with vitamin C in it a couple hours before you consume the Holy medicine we call shrooms.

I'm not an expert in this field at all.
I believe that more serotonin will not lead to a harder or better trip. Psilocybin is converted into psilocin by phosphorylation and psilocin directly works on the 5-HT2a receptor. It replaces serotonin, it doesn't do anything to serotonin itself. That's just my guess.

Neither am I! Haha, I'm literally studying this stuff for the first time.
I Googled the structure of psilocybin and serotonin, and they have similar structures. I don't think psilocybin, replaces serotonin.. I think it works with psilocybin. But that's just my 2 cents

Vitamin c will make your trip shorter or intensify it orcwill do nothing.
Because it's a placebo combined with psilocybin.
Maybe lemon juice would affect the acidity in the stomach enough to make things start faster.
V-C = Placebo

You don't really have to guess though because you can just look it up.
