Agar substitute method question

Greetings. i have found an agar substitute method: https://www.shroomery.org/8514/Agar-substitute
the problem is however, this method requires tyvek, something that seems crucial to avoid contaminants and something i cannot get a hold of. And no i cannot just go to my post office and get it for free i live in Australia. is anybody able to think of a different way of going about this method without tyvek or tell me if its really necessary for the method to work as i am well and truly stuck. thank you for your assistance.

You can use a number of filter material. If you cannot find tyvek gas exchange on Petri dishes can be achieved using poly fill, sfd or micropore tape.

do you suggest i cover the inoculation holes with micropore tape because i struggle to think how you can use the micropore tape in the same way as tyvek as depicted in the tek. and also do you think instead of ground up brown rice, i cna just use brown rice flour?

I know any of those filters will work. I use Petri dishes and parafilm, so that's what I would do.
I don't know about any substitutuions. I use mainly premix agar from sponsors.

All I use is micro pore tape. Works very well. You can Double up if you like but I've even reused the tape several times without replacing. Haven't had contam issues so far.

Always double. One on the outside of the lid, and one inside.
