Good sources of vegan protein?

So I'm a vegetarian and I'm slowly moving toward a more vegan diet. Though I have a very high metabolism and often need a good bit of protein to keep me going. Since I swore off meat several months ago, I've lost some weight and would like to gain some of it back... Not fat weight but more muscle mass..! And of course I know I gotta exercise and get on the ball with muscle ripping asnr rebuilding, but I'll need some goof sources of protein to do so. Are there any good suggestions that come to mind? Soy and beans of course... But what about some others?
Thanks for your time and replies!

Yeah I rock a lot of nuts... I've actually been making my own nut/seed butter lately. Its pretty fun and easy... I use a coffee grinder and do a mix of peanuts, sunflower seeds, cashews (if I can afford em) and hulled hemp. Comes out bomb as hell
Aside from that I eat a lot of eggs. Those are really my only main protein sources ATM. And I'm trying to avoid funneling my cash into the chicken farms and their unethical treatment of the birds. Even the 'organic' and 'cage free' ones ha e their issues with inhumane treatment of the animals. Its really just the industry I have an issue with. I'm trying to source a happy and better supply that I can feel good about eating. Hopefully will come a day when I can have my own chickens.. But that'll be a while.
And hey I appreciate the link... I know my post was kind of vague... I was in a rush. But I Was just hoping to pick some fellow shroomers brains on what thet like... If they could drop some knowledge on a personal level
Though I know there's a lot of redundant posts and the UTFSE thought process comes to mind too often enough. So for the vague post, again I apologize. Some good info on that link though, so thanks for sharing

Check out the book "Thug Kitchen". I use it all the time and it's packed with great vegan recipes.

I think you pretty much have it covered op, proteins are the hard part of the diet you are using. Easiest would be supplemental protein powder as needed. You are looking for a non boring option that doesn't exist

Here we are on the shroomery, and no one mentions mushrooms? Other than soybeans, mushrooms have the most protein per calorie of any non-animal food.

I'll look into that book thank you!
And yes I was hoping someone would go into detail about gourmet and medicinal shrooms. I've recently gotten into shiitakes big time and I love them! Any suggestions on other highly protein rich ooms?
I have some protein powder and it is quite nice... Though I'm mostly curious about raw or plant sources directly.
Thank you for all the replies and advice!

Isn't it great
Try the spiced chickpea wraps with home made sauce on page 32. It's amazing! Only change that I would make to it is to use 1 clove of garlic rather than 2 in the sauce, but other than that just cook it as said.

I don't know if I can trust anyone that says to use less garlic in a recipe.....I can't think of a single thing with garlic that I ever think 'this is too garlicy'

It's raw in the sauce. If it were cooked garlic, it would be a different story.

I like to throw a handful of a variety of seeds in my salads. Sunflower, hemp, pumpkin and quinoa, though the quinoa needs to be simmered for about 20 minutes. Sometimes chia and flax seeds. Nuts are a big part of my diet as well, almonds, cashew and pistachio come in a mixed bag from the local grocery store, great for the ride to work in the morning.
I recently got into bulletproof coffee, loaded with calories with 1-2 taplespoons grass-fed butter and 1-2 tablespoons MCT oil. I cut out carbs and sugar so this will (should) be a great source of fats and energy my body needs.

Thanks for posting this ask! Have been wanting to transition away from reliance on meat for protein - though I also have Crohn's, which (right now) means that my intestines disagree with most of the usual supplementary suspects like whey, soy, rice+beans+cheese, etc.
Which leads me to share something that I've discovered due to this sensitive system of mine (and hopefully it doesn't happy to you, and this isn't meant to be any kind of scare-mongering, but): the body can, for reasons I don't yet understand, begin to reject foods if they're eaten too much. Especially proteins. Yeah, there are exceptional stories of people who only eat bacon and drink coffee all day every day and survive in health to 102 or whatever, but my own experience, coupled with the word from a variety of doctors and nutritionists, is that if proteins aren't rotated then the body can start to freak out a bit.
So just a heads-up to be aware just in case. Certainly no harm in rotating - and brings a nice variety for the palate

How did you figure that out, what were your symptoms?
I realize whenever I eat to much wheat that I get a dull burning pain in my left side from my stomach, down through my lower abdomen, and only when I eat to much wheat, then my poop gets skinny which is a sign of bowel inflammation, I can actually feel my bowels being inflamed. My face also gets swollen (water retention) and I feel very tired, I wont be able to see my abdominal muscles when this happens because of water retention. I am not ripped, but I can usually see 6 abs easily because I am toned, so it's like my tissues get swollen all over from water retention I think, I can't poop, and it's a horrible feeling for a day or two, then I get back into the normal swing of things after two days at most, regular bowel movements, it's really weird.
Hope you don't mind me talking about my poop with you.
My brother recently was talking about crohns, and I don't know if it's one of those types of things which might run in families.
I know I could google this, but think that it might help others if they see this here, you know other shroomery folks.
