Sorry but this isn't the spot for that Info, nor are you supposed to ask for, Locations! I know from experience that Halifax is a tough Area to Hunt... My only finds were for 1 Season, Then they never returned again! Same goes for the one Darkside Spot!
Anyway my 1st Stix hunt was october,18th, 2016... It was my lowest yielding day, only resulting in around 50 or so... I spent most of the time messing with my Camera and trying to fix-up my new mount. Anyway the Pics over the next few days get better as do the results. So Here are a few pics from Lib-cation Day 1... was going to post the rest but it's 3:30am now and I'm heading back out at 5:30am so I need to crash for a bit!

Even if someone did, I don't see why they'd want to give up one of their known spots for you. And I don't think we're allowed to ask exact locations of mushrooms on here. I've searched a couple dozen fields multiple times around Spryfield, Cowie hill, and Herring cove without luck. Also been looking for wood lovers, but nothing active seems to grow in this area, or at least not very commonly. Only interesting thing I've found was a couple of large clusters of honey mushroom. If I find some p. semilanceata, I'll be sure to spread the spores around in some fields so that some actually grow around here. Good luck!

I don't know about the rest of the maritime's, but the last few days here on PEI have been the absolute perfect mix for the growth of libertys (warm/cold and wet)
I feel as though the sporadic warm temperatures and the consistent cold temperatures are PERFECT for lib mycelium growth and also for the proliferation of spores and their ability to form new myco structures. Having had frost temperatures over 2 weeks ago, and 3 days ago having had temperatures in the near 20's i feel encourages the germination of spores that would have had to normally waited till spring to form their mycelial(is that a word?/why not?)structures. now causing new excessive fruiting.
The reason i mention this is because today i checked out a few spots but did not harvest, and expect to be able to pick over 10 lbs tomorrow
If i decide to pick tomorrow and not wait, i can guarantee you will see 3000+ libs on here tomorrow

Can't wait to see those pictures. I think it's supposed to rain the next 5 out of 6 days in Halifax, so I'm hoping for some potential finds myself. Some days are really cold, some are really warm. What a weird October we're having.

My first ever "successful" hunt in Halifax
Quick question for you more experienced fellahs. How deteriorated does a liberty cap need to be to stop you from picking it?

You will be able to tell when it is in the rotting stage, it's pretty much either not "fresh" looking or in one of its varying stages of hygrophanous. It's in between there if that make any sense.....lol. Libs will literally dry out perfectly left in the ground, provided it stays dry long enough. I'm gonna do an experiment for my next trip to compare potency. I picked about 100 off my lawn the other day after a couple days of wind and sun, they weren't cracker dry but they had a darn good start. Also, another thing I noticed with the "vine dried" libs from picking them the other day is the mycelium on the stem butts seems a lot more hardy versus fresh ones, next time yous are out pickin and find some dried ones, have a look. I've been burying the stem butts from those fuckers everywhere, even got some in flower pots with sods from the lawn.

Fuckin' Sweet NewLibAngel!... and I can't complain, I'm doin' alright... Glad to see ya back around! The day before yesterday I hit a patch, by accident, that was better than any I've seen in at least my last 10 years of hunting.... Unfortunately it was in a busy spot so I couldn't get field pics but there were thousands... Grabbed an easy 5-600 in 10-15mins between vehicles! A few monster specimens too!... I wanted to at least do haul pics but we were at my Girl's granmas so it was too complicated... They're all dried up and not as impressive at the moment ( They were Growers Not Show'ers ) Anyway gonna try N' catch up with libcation pics... here are some day 2 pics from Oct,20th They are from multiple spots I call: The Foxhole, The SeaStar, My Never Fail Zone & Doozer Field!

I will also say it has been unusually dry this fall.... The Stix where I grew up is usually always grey & misty, if not raining! I usually change my socks 5-10 times per day hunting there... this year dry as a bone hahaha Had to take my sweater & Layers off several days! As far as "Too Late".... I dunno your specific area but to me if the ground doesn't get a solid perma-frost it's still go time... n even then I've found Stragglers! When the dreaded white stuff stays on the ground (*Hint* Not Booger Sugar) is usually the final whistle for me!
