I was checking out this abandoned house and in the really long grass I spotted a lib that had to be close to 9 inches long, it was a freak of nature lol there were a few other really big guys there too I feel like they can grow bigger in the long grass it gives them something to hold on to, but yeah they are harder to spot

This will always put a smile on your face first thing in the morning.....

The habitat: Active horse pasture Drug along the young fella for an extra set of eyes today.

More..........

Took home 160.....nom..nom..nom. Probably left at least 50 pins. Just for the record, I consider these to be on the smaller end of the scale for a pasture but in comparison to my lawn, I don't think I would find much bigger......the visuals are starting to hit me pretty good as I am typing this.........................lololoolololololololololol

Yep...100% they adapt to a certain grass and its length. There's a spot back home with super long grass that produces Monsters too!

Man...So jealous of your habitats.... I could only wish to have places that sweet to hunt... unfortunately most pastures anywhere around here will get you shot at for going near! I wish I could find someone who would allow me to hunt their fields though! Til then I'll just keep scrounging em up on lawns & where I can!

Yeah that's really too bad, Liberty King, but as long as you're able to gather enough for yourself and maybe a few friends, you're good. It is, however, annoying that the best fields are private. It's on my bucket list to find and try semis in my lifetime, but I find it discouraging to read posts like yours about private pastures. Makes me almost want to give up. I'd be traveling quite the distance to try to look for them, and I imagine that more public places like cemeteries would have tons of competition and I'd barely stand a chance. Seeing post after post of finds makes it look easy, and then reality sets in

Yeah, I searched 7 or 8 fields today in Halifax with no luck. They make it look easy.

I've been searching 25 years and can count the GOOD spots on one hand. Persistence pays off.

I too have been hunting Libs that long.... exactly the same! They are like hunting a small elusive animal... You may go years without seeing it in the wild, until one day you catch a glimpse... then you start to learn what to look for, and get a feeling about "areas".... but all that does is better your odds.... It doesnt mean you'll be sucessful most hunts ... it's all about persistance! Good Luck Hunting Folks.... I'm heading out to my 5th new area in the morning... 0/4 so far.... then heading to my ""Neverfail Zone" after to make myself feel better!

That looks awesome!
Checked out a spot today that i have every only found 100 or so at a time, two days ago there was only two libs about 15 feet apart and now they each have about 15-20 around them i picked a few of the older slug eaten guys and spread them around a bit.
What methods do you guys use to try and promote spreading these guys, i usually just deposit a few caps in areas that look lib friendly, is this effective? or is there a better way to go about it?

The most important thing to help promote spreading is to NOT reveal the location of your spots to ANYBODY and never pick it clean. I use the 10 % rule and leave 1 out of every 10! I usually always have my spray bottle with a spore print or 2 in it. The first thing I do when I get home is drag my spore laden boots around the lawn and then I cut any stem butts still attached and throw them in a shallow graves around the lawn. When my Grandfather still owned this place, I checked this lawn EVERY SEASON for about 15 years, NOTHING!! That's when I started spraying spore water and spreading stem butts about. I will easily harvest a couple hundred off my lawn this year.

I've been quite busy "Hunting by Day.... and Stix Drinking By Night!.... All Day!" (JRE or Diaz Fans will get the "All Day" addition! ) Anyway it's supposed to "Storm" tonight So I'm going to try and post my updates & pics later on! No Hauls like the one above but it's definitely been a good Lib-cation so far! All "My" spots have produced & I'm hoping this 2 days of rain will prompt a Nice big flush before I shoot over to CB for a Night!
