PF-Tek jars - yellowish spots
    #23682609 - 09/27/16 09:24 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Boys,

in some of my jars (3 of 11) some white/yellowish bulge comes up. The dark brown spots are BRF but what are these bright thickenings?  Is this some sort of contamination and I need to toss it? Need professional help here.

Thanks!

Well moisture should not be a problem, since the other jars were fine and start pinning, but I am wondering what this swelling is exactly.

I would like to wait for a trusted cultivator's opinion.

They will probably be able to identify what it is. But it's not going to be something to fruit. The jars look pretty wet on the inside but maybe that's my eyes. The possibility of those being metabolites are small but it could be..... Someone will chime in soon enough and it may not be a trusted cultivator but a person with more experience.

If it is bacterial, it doesn't normally warrant a toss. My motto is once it molds throw it the fuck out. Bacteria isn't mold.

Ksss have been known to do some epic mutations. They're the spaceship strain after all lol.

If it was me I'd totally birth that and see what happens. If it molds or that shit is mycogone, get it the fuck out of your house.

Thank you Rhizomorpheus for your comment.

I did some investigations about mycogene and I think I can identify this parasite on the mentioned cakes. I have birthed them and they smelled mushroomy. However, I have quarantined them in freezing bags to see what will happen the next days:

The infected area is a bit bubbly holy.

Last week I have birthed some other KSSS cakes which are fruiting already but I am afraid that they can be infected by the mycogone parasite too, because they growing really weird. Maybe it is by the nature of the strain as Rhizomorpheus said. Some closer shots:

Do you think mycogone is responsible for this mutation? Will they be eatable?
