panaeolus cyanescens identification
    #23681336 - 09/26/16 09:14 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Just had a hunt, second time with success but I need help identifying them. I believe they're panaeolus cyanescens but I wouldn't call myself completely qualified to make that assumption.  They dont blue like I think they should but I am new. Gills are black on all of them but some caps are darker than others. Is there another mushroom that closely resembles panaeolus cyanescens? Thanks for the help. I'll post pics as well.

The big one is Psilocybe cubensis, the rest are Copelandia, perhaps C. cyanescens.  Microscopy and DNA sequencing would help figure out exactly which Copelandia it is.  The large cap pics in the last photo might be Panaeolus antillarum.

So the only way to tell differences between copes is with a microscope by checking it's dna?

Haha  thats awesome man,  glad I gave you the inspiration to go experience the magic in their own natural habitat !  :mushroom2:  Tell us how it goes......  Cuz to me, the copes are just Downright Mean  lol  More of a mind fuck / heavy body high ( visuals of course )  while the cubes tend make me laugh at everything with more vivid visuals.    Be warned though,  it only takes me a few small copes to just Tripp ballz.  lol  imo-
