So I never thought I would ever post this, but we have a couple of tubs going and we have more mushys than we know what to do with.
Here is the latest crop dry, 7 oz (each bag has a tablespoon of damprid wrapped up in a paper towel):

So far we have gotten 11+ oz off of two 18 gallon tubs.

I just thought about growing shrooms earlier today. I haven't grown em in six years!
And wow!!!! Nice yield!!!
How long can dried shrooms be stored for until they are no longer good? I assume freeze em?

I don't think freezing is a good idea. Best way to store long term is to make em into chocolates and keep in the fridge.
7 oz from one tub, one flush? Nice job.
What's up with this 'we' talk? Be careful. Trust no one.

From what I hear, oxygen and heat are the biggest killers of potency. So if vacuum sealed with desiccant to prevent rot, you should be good. I have heard refrigeration / freezing has it's benefits, but as long as they don't get too hot, I've never had any problems with potency. Several months is really all I have let fruits set personally though.
This was from two tubs, most of the smaller to medium sized fruits were from tub 2 on the first flush and the larger fruits came from tub 1 on it's second flush.
The reason why I say "we" is it's a two man job. someone else helps with the tubs after they are done colonizing.

Heat is not an issue. Use a dehydrator.

The biggest killer of potency is wrapping up half dry mushrooms in plastic bags with paper towels.

These were dried with a fan for 2-3 days and then put in a Pyrex with desiccant. Another 2-3 days later they were cracker dry. I then put them in airtight food saver bags with a paper towel full of desiccant folded to keep any moisture away while they are in the bags.
I've always dried this way and ate some several months later and they were definitely still extremely potent. I am looking into a dehydrator but can't seem to find a highly rated one that has a temperature control.
Suggestions would be great!

My dad had a 8th of shrooms he got at a concert and never ate. So he vacuumed packed them and kept them in the freezer for 3 years. I ate those a couple months ago. I thought they were good

Get the cheapest dehydrator with no temp control.. You really don't need a temp control at all..

for real though... once you get to that 'too many shrooms' ..go find dehydrators.
i live in a big city and im so tempted to drive around too all the goodwills and grab up all the dehydrators(maybe even pc's) and offer them to decent shroomery members.
all the hard work and TIME that go into growing only to see some people(not so much OP) ruin them with wacky drying methods is starting to upset me. more so than it should.

I completely understand that and seriously, thanks for the input. I have sealed packets of desiccant pellets ordered and on the way that just aren't here yet. This damp rid paper towel garbage is a temporary solution while I'm waiting for those to get in.
I like your tek and you bet I'm headed to goodwill asap. I have been checking slickdeals.net but haven't found anything recently...
In my experience, the humidity of my old state hydrates them more as they set around. So no matter what your drying method is, they will eventually have more moisture content as they sit. Unlike weed, it gets drier as it sets unless properly stored. However I'm in a drier climate now, and the extra protection for drying may be overkill.
So I guess my question is, once fully cracker dry dehydrated - what prevents them from gaining moisture over time *if* they set around, or is this a non-concern?
I'm OCD to the max, so these summer project grows were only to obtain the proper materials, gain the proper experience, and knowledge for next season. I went over board on all of my projects some worked out some didn't.
Thanks for the replies, and here is some eye candy from the second flush from another one of my posts.
