Depression after LSD?

Last night I dosed aprox. ~170 mics. I honestly feel quite depressed. I have sleft for a few hours. This depression is much worse than I've experienced before. I feel like I have a hole inside of my heart and I'm missing something. My trip was good I would like to think but I felt disgusted in my body the whole time. I just wanted to rip out of my body and just be the mind. I hate this feeling. Will it go away or will I be like this for a while. I'm honestly quite scared....

Idk why people complain of post-trip depression. I usually get the opposite. If I were you I would dose in the mornings. IME/IMO, that crash feeling is from little to no sleep and improper eating the day of taking L

Yes. I've felt that way after all of my other experiences but this one is different. I'm a little fearful as maybe it changed me? In a negative way?

maybe you are failing to intergrate? The LSD peak felt so nice that now its hard to get back to normal life? If I were you I would try and look into that?

Alright will do. I don't know if there is much to integrate there wasn't much to the experience. I originally dosed with two tabs and I pulled the second one out about 4 minutes later as I began feeling super nervous about it. My trip wasn't a bad one persay?

I had unusually strong depression after taking LSD. Though I had a very stressful and unexpected day during my trip so that was partly to blame I think.
The problem is that LSD lasts far too long for a psychedelic. It doesn't just agonize serotonin receptors, but also dopaminergic and adrenergic receptors, among others. It is really working your brain out a lot more than other drugs, so the recovery process can take a couple days.

I've had down days after acid trips as well but usually not, we are constantly in flux and some days we just feel depressed and down naturally, just coming off an acid trip syncing with this you will think it's the acid, and it probably doesn't help since your balances are a tad off, but you will recover, quickly at that, it only lasted 1 day for me.

LSD has a serotnergic recovery period just like MDMA with about 1/3 of the intensity and less properties. Also if you are prone to insomnia, it can excaberate your insomnia which makes you more depressed. I generally have to double my dose of sleeping aids for a couple weeks after taking LSD.

Hmm well i had 350 of 1p-lsd on thursday night. Friday i felt a little low myself, was thinking of the night before and how happy i had been lol, but by sat i was okay again. It was an extremely energetic and fantastic trip, so i expect my mind and body were both worse for wear! I laughed for hours, thought abt so many issues and other things, i had a great night, til i woke up friday morning feeling drained and low in mood. It happens sometimes. Not for all though.
Some times i feel low the day after a trip, other times i dont, it really can vary for me. Im sure will pass after another sleep

Depression after LSD use has been known about literally since LSD was invented. There's even a warning on erowid about it. Hofmann discusses it in "LSD: My Problem Child."

Its really interesting though, as at a micro dose level, it can have wonderful anti depressant effects. For some people at least, maybe not all. I find 10ug a nice amount, 5 was too low and 15 was too high.

I get almost like a strange mixed state off of 1P where like half of me feels depressed and other half feels more happy and alive than ever. ALD52 also had a depressing after effect for me, but all of it was really minor. I'd barely even call it noteworthy, but it was noticeable.
I'd say it lasted about 1-2 days to a week or so for me with significantly less intensity each day. Reminded me of the after effects of MDMA-like drugs, but it also has similarities for me with the after effects of 2CE except warmer.

Is there really going to be any significant difference between the trip or the aftereffects of LSD and 1P-LSD whatsoever? 1P-LSD just metabolizes right into LSD and an inactive molecule. In fact I assumed that all LSD in circulation over the past few years has been 1P-LSD.

That's a debatable and highly contentious topic. It depends upon whether or not 1P is a pure prodrug, or if it has its own effects. Most users have said that there are at least some differences with LSD, but many have said that aside from small differences it's largely identical. Meanwhile, others have said the two drugs are nothing alike, and that they have wildly different effects.
YMMV.

I think you should be fine in my opinion, it shouldn't anything serious, most likely an after effect. I get moderate mental confusion the following day after a shroom trip, but it dissipates about 24 hours after.

Lsd helps us see our problems i am assuming that you remembered something that made you ashamed or something. so if this kind of thing happen to me, I ask myself, have i changed to the better from that point ? if not, i change the way i used to deal with it.

It happens man, don't be scared and don't sit there dwelling on it. Happened to me many times, but it will go away. Usually only happens after extensive use for me but can get pretty bad. Its normal when you take such mind altering substances so dont worry.

Yeah this was my first time taking any psychedelic or drug for that matter in 5 months and it never happened before so it was terrifying for me once my mind started wandering towards the thought of suicide which I've never had before...

I'm not a depressive person, but I may have experienced that feeling as well. For me, it was on the comedown and along the lines of "well if everything I'm working for in my life right now just doesn't work out, I don't see what other options I'd have." But that's just comedown blues, which I have been able to dismiss as just that.
What I have noticed that is more impactful, is life's lackluster in the following weeks. I have no problem integrating a lot of the lessons. However, after tripping I can't help but feel trapped in this life. Like an animal in a zoo, I'd rather be feral. post trip depression probably differs for most people based on their experiences, that's just mine. I don't have a solution, other then time and positive changes in lifestyle.

Well my spirits are much better now!! Maybe it was just the serotonin levels were really low. The depression feeling is completely gone and I've had the glow for a few days now!!

I've always felt fresh as a daisy after my acid trips. No depression at all. Unlike say MDMA.
-------------------- My Psychedelic experiences: LSD - 30+ times (2 hits min / max 3 hits) every time. Shrooms - 4 times (2.5 - 3.5g) DMT - 5 times (Powerful breakthrough only once) Life can be one hell of a bitter pill to swallow so I chose acid instead -YeOlde

It's a lot less emotional of a 'depression' than mdma. It's more of an exhaustion like you missed a couple nights of sleep. The acute effects of it are mostly gone within 3 days but sluggish thinking and increased ADD/insomnia or whatever mental problem you are prone to can drag on for weeks.

I just get that spacey where's my keys feeling whereas with mush I get a crazy newfound energy the next day. Last time with L wasnt as cloudy the next day though. We were using our brains all night though so I wasn't sitting and smoking fucktons of weed or anything.

I agree with this comment - however I think some of the "depression" comes from the fact that you were just somewhere wonderful (mentally and chemically[brain chemistry*]) and you wish you could stay there.

Oh ya mushrooms are like a nootropic for me. It's the opposite of lsd, which makes me stupid. Theres all this media hype about how silicon Valley is using lsd to be smarter but the media has it wrong and what you really need is mushrooms.
