I love guitar/music 2

On my last acid trip, I was coming down (2 weeks ago). I had this weird drive to play guitar again. I shared a guitar with my brother. It ended up getting stolen ($600) about 3-4 years ago
I decided the second I got enough cash, I would get a cheap one and start again. I played classical for about a year and loved it. About 1 hour a day
Anyways, I was cleaning out my old room and my brothers room. My brother moved out, but I found a scratched up, dusty guitar with no strings 1 week after this LSD trip under his bed. I went out, got some strings, and cleaned that bitch up. Its about a $100-150 guitar new. So its nothing crazy. But it works. And for my level, its more than I could ask for. I assume its about $50 worth if you account for the fact its used. basically garbage. But I have been at it about 1 hour a day and I forgot how amazingly fun it is
These are the two pieces I hope to master in the next month. All the muscle memory from years ago is slowly coming back and I am picking back up where I left off
tl:dr; Anyone else in love with their guitar/intrument? Its honestly the highlight of my day. I think when I am busier I will only get about 20 minutes a day. But its the best 20 mins of my day. Guitar is my crack. My new love

I looove playing my guitar especially on acid
I make sure to bust out some improv jammage every day, I can come up with some cool stuff sober but when I'm tripping it's like I can tap into this vast psychic river of creative energy and channel it into a never-ending jam, it's fucking nuts

I took a hit of dmt 2 days ago and tried to play the guitar. I failed miserably. Then again, DMT is a lot more "dissociating" than L
But IDK if I am on that level yet

DMT has even more of a powerful effect for me in that regard but it's easier to go overboard and get too fucked up to play smoking that stuff
I'd say your best bet would be to combine the two and just take a single hit of DMT instead of trying to blast off, I've gotten some ridiculous results that way

I studied classical guitar for a long time, lots of Bach and also Venezuelan classical guitar.
My favroite composer ended up being a Colombian guitarist: Gentil Montana
He wrote the most intricate and beautiful Latin influenced pieces.

Just for diversities sake here is one of my favorite electric guitarists:
Guthrie Govan: "Wonderful Slippery Thing"

I was just messing with you. I am a big fan of bluegrass but I guess I don't like "newgrass". I definitely like the electric guitar though, but when I think of a guitar virtuoso I am thinking of someone finger-picking on an acoustic for the most part. Even Hendrix kinda seems like a hack to me compared to some amazing classical/jazz guitarists.

Yeah I agree with that partly but electric and acoustic are two different beasts. Some electric guitarists play with as much if not more finesse and technique then many great acoustic guitarists. Though of course many use distortion as a crutch in some ways. At the same time some things are possible with electric that would be incredibly hard if not impossible with acoustic

Yeah well I have always just liked all stringed instruments. Especially guitar because I kinda can play one sorta ok, but all stringed instruments are just kinda magical to me. I'm not sure exactly why, but changing it usually seems slightly less appealing. It's just a less complicated relationship between the musician and his instrument which I feel like allows for better expression. I'm not saying what I like is better, just how I feel.

Stringed instruments are pretty damn magical. Changing the relationship can make the relationship between the instrument and a person more or less complex IMO. Look at amps and pedals. With acoustic instruments you either play them as is or use a mic or piezo generally to amplify the sound. But with electric guitar all of a sudden you have the pickups, different wiring's, and the amps play a bigger role in the sound.
Now a days with modern technology really cool stuff is possible too, like having a MIDI guitar that you can play organ or piano or practically anything on.

You thinking of flamenco guitar? That is pretty much spanish/ latin classical guitar I believe.
I have a spanish classical guitar very similiar to the one in this video, it was my dead grandfathers guitar been meaning to play it more.

Is there any room for piano love in this thread? Or is this guitar only
I've been in love with my Piano a lot recently, some days I put over 5 hours into playing it. When I was a kid we had a neighbor who had this old Wurlitzer piano, and they couldn't bring it with them when they moved, so they pretty much just gave it to us for free
I love that piano. Learned a couple Chopin and Beethoven songs over the years. Recently I've switched to just transposing/jamming to random songs lol, its a lot of fun because instead of needing to pour 1-3 weeks into learning like with classical songs, you can just put like a few hours into each song.
I wanted to learn this classical song next, but fuck... I took a look at it, and unlike most of the classical songs I've learned, it actually manages to be even harder than it sounds

I love music too. I've been playing drums since I could walk, but lately I haven't been able to play near as much as I'd like to. They are so expensive and there really is no where to play them. It sucks though cause I'm really talented but can't live up to my full potential. I have to go to guitar center 3 times a week to get my fix.
I can naturally play other instruments so maybe I should pick up a keyboard or something.
I'm pretty bad-ass at guitar hero tho
