I don't mean to sound like a whiner, but bad things happen to all of us. Back in March I was offered a job that would pay around $15,000 more per year than I was making. I was a bit pressured to take this position by a former colleague, who highly recommenced me. I was excited to get this position, because it not only paid well, but came with benefits, which I did not have as a contractor. When I filled out the application I filled it in haste, and did not mention my past Felony conviction, as my former employer said they did not see it on their background check. As it turns out, the new employer used a more thorough background check company, and they found out I had a conviction for possession of amphetamines. Well, on the day I thought I was starting at the new job, after I quit my old job, I got called to speak with the vice president of the company, who made me look like a fool, because I did not disclose my past record...
To make a long story short, I ended up unemployed for about three months, with no unemployment insurance. Unfortunately, this made me fall into foreclosure, and unable to catch up on my payments. To add insult to injury, my new job did not pay as much as my old job, so I was rejected the loan modification.
One of my friends suggested I rent out my vacant bedrooms. I was thinking about setting up a crowd funding account. Also, thought about debt consolidation, and getting a higher paying job.
I am basically asking if there is anyone out there who has been is a similar situation, how did you get out of it, and what would you suggest.
Thank You!

reddit personal finance is pretty good for this kind of stuff.
They will ask your income, monthly expenses and basically tell you to strip down and sell everything you can while you cut your monthly expenses. There is no quick fix to financial problems. You have to work more and spend less. Get side jobs, slang mushrooms on the side. Do whatever you gotta do. Get rid of the car, the data plan on your phone, the netflix, the cable. All that shit.
Best of luck.
