for a few of you that know, life hasnt been the grandest for me in a few years, but then again who's life really has?
from a couple year bout with lymphoma to losing my relationship battle with my long time girlfriend, to starting over with someone new and having my kids taken from me with virtually no visitation, then losing that someone new to my own selfish pride to finally working on me, getting her back and starting a new job and getting a new house and starting our new life together...
thats a brief overview... but digressing from the point... life has finally started to get better for me... still not getting to see my kids but some of that is on me for being too ashamed to face them or my family because of the things ive done.. it seems really selfish of me, but my inner anxieties about what my beautiful kids think of me now and wondering where there daddy is and why he left..
makes me cry, even now to think about... but short of that, which is currently my biggest issue, things are getting better...
how do you guys, short of self medicating, deal with some of the issues in your lives?
lets discuss...

Glad to hear things are looking brighter for you Stay strong and keep working on yourself and things will work out.
The fact you care enough about your kids to feel remorse and want to fix things is a good sign, seems not giving a fuck is pretty common these days so props to you.

I pretty much just think about them, sometimes it helps and others it doesn't but it beats trying to avoid thinking about stuff which I also do
This very possibly isn't your cup of tea but I always think of this song during times like these:
Get No Better - Dillard-Hartford-Dillard
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Like I have told my self and my friends many times.
Everybody makes mistakes, some of us make bigger and nastier mistakes than others. All we can do is own up to our mistakes and our faults and move forward, leaving them behind us.
Sometimes life feels like and seems like that It cannot or will not get any better, and we are doomed to live with our mistakes, like a heavy burden on our backs.
This however is not the case, if we keep moving forward to a better tomorrow day by day, eventually with enough work and enough time we can find ourselves living a slightly happier life. This is the process we have to endure, it is a daily struggle and often a painful one, but once we move far enough forward we won't be living the same life we once did.
I'm sorry about your loss of friends, family, children and relationships. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but just stay positive and work for a better tomorrow and maybe someday you can repair the unfixable. It already sounds like you are in a better place then you were in, so just keep doing what you're doing and work towards the future.
